some will replace original parts with cheap copy

@  bill44ca : (19 August 2018 - 01:53 PM)

I too would not waste time repairing a TV or Computer unless it was a very expensive one here. But I don't know MacGuyver

@  Biggles : (19 August 2018 - 11:18 AM)

Yes, I had the same thought but a recommendation helps. Dont think it is a major problem.

@  Kadachiman : (19 August 2018 - 09:46 AM)

I have had 3 different companies take 5 attempts to fix my aircond (leaking gas)...still no luck. This and other items that I needed 'repaired' has led me to the conclusion that the skills are not available to fix anything, so better to throw it away and buy new

@  scuba539 : (19 August 2018 - 08:35 AM)

Saw an ad in the Blue Book for ACT TV Repair shop...09178315689...Never used them but claim to have been in Biz since 1981

@  Biggles : (19 August 2018 - 06:57 AM)

My TV is playing up, any one know a reliable repair place in AC, please. A home visit place would be good, no transport, but somewhere near to downtown AC would be ok as could take it in a trike.

@  bill44ca : (19 August 2018 - 02:19 AM)

@sandman if your computer goes down you should not have to wait 2 days. Second floor of SM has a couple places that will fix it while you wait if they have the part

@  statusquo : (19 August 2018 - 01:05 AM)

@Sandman! Up to you brother, this board is collective

@grahamuk It was mega-hot from June up until a couple of weeks ago. It had been hitting 35 degrees some days. Hotter than the Philippines!

@  grahamuk : (18 August 2018 - 02:24 PM)

I thought it was supposed to have been the hottest summer on record in the UK. Then again, we know how quickly that can change.:(

@  stew : (18 August 2018 - 12:58 PM)

Hello fellow PA members.  I am looking to return to PH sometime in feb/march.  Last time i stay about 10 nights and stayed in Manila/Alabang.  While I did enjoy the city life of Manila I do not want to visit the same exact same place.  I plan on staying somewhere around 10-15days this trip.  My first thought was cebu but  I have been reading that Cebu is not worth that much time?

I am not too worried about mongering or finding a female there.  That is already covered.   ;)   I am looking for some feedback from the guys that have been there and traveled out around the islands.  I would like to kind of do the tourist(y) thing.  I am wanting to stay near a nice beach without having the big resort price.  Was thinking of something like El nido or something like?

I was there in November and stayed a week in Boracay. It is nice because you have slow quiet parts on the beach and very busy parts as well. If you don't need to stay right on the beach you can get a nice cheap hotel a short walk away. Plenty of activities for fee or you can just enjoy the beach. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and dance. I also spent a weekend in Subic. The beaches are not as nice but still a decent place if you like the gogo bars but still want to be near the beach. Another option is Puerta Galera which is a scaled down version of Boracay. Again, the beach is not as nice but an enjoyable time, plenty of places to eat and some gogo bars if you want that. I have not been to Palawan yet but have heard some good reports.

El nido is real nice with alot of fine beaches and islands that you can easily get to. If you dive or snorkel its really a Beautiful place for it. Going to el nido for 10 Days myself late february early march to dive.

Thanks for the info.  Diving/snorkeling is something I would love to do, among other things.

I could and have google things to do there and get all kinds of good/bad info.  And everyone trying to sell me their package.  From what I have seen from my "google" searches there is so much to do but the traveling there is so bad. I hated traveling while there.  I could spend days just getting to where I want to go.  I am just looking for some first hand info of where people have been what they liked about it.

I'm not usually they type to just "wing it".  I typically like to have a full plan of what I will be doing before I go.  Maybe that is why I stress planning a vacation so much.

Hey buddy welcome to Philippines Addicts and hope your trip is most illuminating. Always best to plan your vacation as much as possible even though you might get sidetracked by a "distraction".

Have a safe trip and be sure to tell us all how it goes.

El Nido is really nice and relatively pristine but not much a night life, really quite undeveloped and 5 or 6 hours from PP. Puerto Princess could be a good compromise but lack nice beachfront hotels save a few high priced ones.

You may try Cebu. Bohol is 2 hr ferry away and Mactan have some cheap resorts if you don't stay right on beach. There are better beaches like Marboal down south. Many activities like waterfall, Oslob Beach and whale watching. Cebu is a much nicer city than Manila and has many city night life activities. Feb would be just right after Sinulog so you would avoid the overcrowded festivities.

Palawan and Boracay are cheap 40 min to 1 hr flight from Cebu. I know you don't like to travel, but there really isn't a perfect all in one place in PI. Always some compromise.

Davao can also be enticing, tho, it's much tamer than Cebu.

Listen to Darkacre.....I have been to neither, but El Nido and Bohol according to others seem to be much more pristine and way less crowded than Boracay. Look up on Trip Advisor, look at the hotels and read the reviews. Should give you a basic idea.
