This MeToo thing.... How does a guy in the US go about asking a colleague for a date these days without it potentially being called sexual harassment? And what about simple flirting? Am I exaggerating the potential problems or are they real?

More of a quick note than a review.

I've been staying near P. Burgos and the hotels are rather low priced for Manila. Certainly compared to Malate.

Bel aire Condominium does hotels on Agoda under names like Dragonlink and Soho, basically all the same. Studio condos as hotel rooms. Got one for ~1300 (all in) cooktop range, microwave, large fridge, balcony, pretty good all considered for the price, but an older building and no safe. Really nice bed in the one I got. The other downside was at night the guards were fanatics with ID, even rejecting one of my girls whose ID was expired. For that reason I would probably avoid the place in the future, maybe, price was still good for what I got in Manila and in the daytime they didn't check IDs.

I did have a negative experience at a place called Makati Luxury Suites at 1400p a night. A double pay scam that showed up on Agoda. I didn't bite for the "I'm leaving the country tonight please deposit money in my account before midnight. Sincerely Saeed." But it screwed up my plans a little and I had to rebook at Birch tower (Sea Pearl) in Malate on the bus down from AC... they were overbooked however, and also canceled once I got there. So I took Royal Bellagio in Malate for ~1800 a night.

Royal Bellagio is really good, almost like a airport Super 8 in the US or somesuch with a well stocked mini bar. Really good for PI standards. Like how it's set up too. Good behind the lobby safe box system, no nosy guards. Nice view of the street in my room.
Good deal for 1800(all in) within Manila. No microwave or kitchen, and only a small fridge.

Isn't Royal Bellagio on Burgos street next to Bottoms bar in Makati? I didn't know there one in Malate also? But RB is ok. So is Makati Palace, a bit nicer.

Soho, Dragonlink, across from Berjaya hotel was pretty bad when I stayed there 2 years ago. Also the sister site BelAire near Kojak is a bit dated. I think they have walk in rate p1500 for the larger room. Citadel Inn is the worst roach motels around there.
