@  hey you : (20 June 2018 - 01:28 AM)

i live in the province dont check anything in never had a problem maybe because they know me on sight

@  statusquo : (19 June 2018 - 11:47 PM)

@bill44ca you are correct. I said size is a concern but they might put it off to the side and that is the only place I know of in SM that does this. Never know until u ask. @hey you not a bad idea but cumbersome cheers!

@  bill44ca : (19 June 2018 - 09:13 PM)

SM grocery will not let you in with bags/packages. Purses only no backpacks. My girl had a very small backpack and they made her check it. This guy was talking about luggage.

@  hey you : (19 June 2018 - 03:37 PM)

sm problem simple dont check your bags if they think your stealing let security stop you at the door on your way out

@  bill44ca : (19 June 2018 - 05:17 AM)

@p20bill if you take the Southern Cross bus they drop you off at your hotel

If their fares from the US to SE Asia will be anywhere as low as they are when flying around within SE Asia, this could mean great news for fares from the US.

That could really shake up the Transpac market. Flights will be to KL, NOT Bangkok or MNL, so changing planes will be inevitable but for a budget price many will do that.

sub 1K USD will work now that many of the Middle eastern ones have fares that are dirt cheap during non peak seasons. I have seen anywhere from 400 to 800 for APAC destinations using Emirates or Etihad airlines. It is non peak fares only. If Air Asia starts off with sub 1K they can make a killing in sales. Let us see what happens.

I take 3-4 flights, various Star airlines, to get to Bangkok or PI(crk, mnl, ceb) from the US, 26-45 hours, but the price is $400-800(econ, or bus/1st combo). Which I don't even directly pay. If I was paying I might consider a more direct flight at 1k, but not sure.

A lot of airlines are changing their rosters around the world so that people from the 7 banned countries are not crew members on flights to the USA.

The quoted post is a political one and while it will be left in place in this instance please become more informed and stick to the topic rather than politicise it.

You will find that Qatar Airlines, Emirates and a bunch of middle eastern owned companies will still be allowed to fly into the USA.

AirAsia have had one well-publicised fatal accident, but there are not many airlines that have a perfect safety record. I don't see why that gives them a "very dodgy record".

chris please google air asia australian record and read this,

air asia facing sixth transport safety investigation in 18 months, including one flight that had to land in the wrong city because of pilot error,

cheers mate, mike.

You could Google almost any airline and come up with a similar list of incidents. For example:

From: The Advertiser, Adelaide
"A gross miscalculation of data from a pilot twice thrust a regional flight into a position where the Qantas plane could literally have dropped from the sky. The pilot incorrectly computed the Boeing 717 jet's weight by nearly 10 tonnes, causing two "stick shaker activations" where the cockpit was warned of an aerodynamic stall."

From: The Australian
"Pilot error caused a QantasLink aircraft to clip the tail of another plane in the parking bay at Paraburdoo airport in Western Australia, delaying by one day the return to Perth of more than 100 mine workers, according to an investigation."

From: The Wall Street Journal
"Australia's official investigation into a 1999 accident that caused a Qantas Airways jet to overshoot its runway during a storm at Bangkok International Airport has traced the botched landing to poor pilot training."

Whats funny is that of the worlds 10 most unsafe airlines we have an all in legacy airlines list.

Its Garuda Indonesia having the worst safety record and Thai Airways number 9, PAL is also on the top 10..

As a budget airline, they would have to get under $500 to make a dent in this very competitive market. Budget airlines and even some better airlines like EVA are charging in the 600s to go to MNL or Bangkok (1 connect) from USA. Some of the better airlines are charging 800-1000.

Possible from the West coast. But with the taxes and fees in USA $500 flight will be a revenue of 200$ approximately for round trip. May be an intro rate.
