I know this question has been asked before. I have checked previous posts but I'm looking for up to date information. Looking for an aircon room P2000 to P3000 for 1 night March 9. close to NAIA, preferably with an Airport Shuttle Service. Any info will be appreciated.

I find the agoda.com search engine on this site to be very usefull.

Click on hotels at the top.

A couple of clicks and it will take you to a map, which allows you to zoom into all the hotels in the area you want to stay,

with prices ratings and comments from others that have used that hotel.

I just used it the other day to book a cheap overnight stay between flights.

Usually there is information on each hotel if there is shuttle avaliable

I use Red Planet in Aseana. Walking distance to MoA and next door to convenience stores plus Jollibee and Pizza Hut. Great water pressure and clean rooms.

Copacabana is just too old for me and too much hassle on checkout.

Thanks on Red Planet.
From what I could find on it, there's not a shuttle. Was it fairly easy to get a cab to T 1?

Very easy to get a taxi! Make sure they use the meter. Do not pay extra for "traffic"!

Sogo is just around the corner from Copacabana and DOES have (satisfactory) wifi in all the rooms and in the lobby.

They also have a very reasonably priced hotel car and pleasant driver, who will take you to T1 in about 15 mins.

I have used the place and their airport service car many times.

All rooms will be less than p2000 for 24hrs.

It's also directly across from the EDSA bar complex. :D

There is (as from the title of the post) manila airport hotel literally just a stone's throw from terminal 1. Stayed there couple of years ago. It's just basic. Had massage place in lobby, swimming pool, breakfast included. Can't remember the cost though. KFC is next door, and also some other small restaurant. Lots of taxis going by. So, probably not a problem to catch one.
Nothing special or spectacular about the place. Just a place to be able to stay.

If you don't mind self service condo unit, this owner has 2-3 units at Saratosa 4 Residential Resort at Newport just opposite NAIA T3. Cost is about 2500p via Agoda - link below.

The review is a little overrated esp on the owner. But comfortable 1br unit. The owner will not confirm which unit (I wanted the one with washer but nope, did not get it) and the unit 6L I stayed was just ok (aircon working but faulty remote). Poor selection of cable TV channels.

About 60p for taxi from T3 in about 5 minutes without traffic. Can call for food delivery, a couple of small restaurants to both sides within 5 minutes walk, else 5-10 minutes walk to Marriott hotel / Resorts World mall for restaurants / fast food. A small local mall with supermarket and MacDonald in opposite direction.
And a franchise laundry shop (beside Watson) just opposite the Saratosa main entrance / gate. Slightly higher price than most neighbourhood laundry but still reasonable per kg.

The condo Sarasota is in the Newport resort area, after Marriott hotel on the way to NAIA. Number 4 is the building # in the Saratosa compound.

Even Red Planet has drawbacks. The room is plenty big enough for 2 people for a few days, but more than that and it's just too small. I do love the shower though and the internet really is better than average (in the Philippines).

Note: the Aseana Red Planet is located about a kilometer from EDSA, so perhaps a 10 minute walk and using the pedestrian overpass to get there.

Price has been around $44 a night, but haven't stayed there in 6 months...

This is the sort of hotel with a location that you wouldn't feel bad about putting your wife or sister into it (or even your mother). Copacabana, SOGO and many others are just too horrible to consider.

With over 65 trips to the Philippines, I've stayed at most hotels in Manila and Cebu. Of course over the past 18 years, I've probably spent way too much money on hotels. I've found that the best hotels in the Philippines just aren't worth it, but the worst hotels are definitely not worth it either. I prefer a happy medium. :)

Please note that we each have individual tastes and preferences. Most likely my tastes and preferences have been honed by my 40 years of extensive traveling. :D

Got the booking at Red Planet Aseana and enjoyed my stay well enough.

Besides the Chinese restaurant, the food is typical local standards (to me anyway). would be worth it to venture out (walk/cab) to MOA or EDSA as others have stated.

Got a price of $35 (double room: queen bed w/bfast) a night on Agoda (thru PA site - thanks again TR), so I'm more than satisfied with the price to product.
Ex's - even with no phones in the room, they'll send security to do a wake-up service if requested (I did and it was 5 mins prior - just as I like it). No kettle in room but will deliver hot water to your room. Etc...

Oh yeah...the A/C and hot showers were outstanding!

Close enough to the new "skyway" but still ran into the same choke point as before when going towards T-1. Did shorten the drive about 20-30 mins, which was awesome on 9 Friday evening!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

It worked for me and if it fits others needs, hopefully works for them.

I've stayed there twice. Way over priced for what you get. Location is about the only advantage unless you want to monger. Then it becomes a disadvantage. The rooms are/were dimly lit and dingy.

Travelling to and living in Asia since 1955.

When did you last stay at Sogo FB Harrison, Pasay ?

You're a humorous fellow Grahamuk. I'm surprised you feel the need to defend SOGO. Personally, I've not stayed there, but did pay for girls to stay in the Pasay and Cebu SOGO about 3-4 years back. These were province girls coming to visit me. Of course I saw the inside of the rooms briefly. Not my cup of tea!

Chill out please. No need to be offensive. Going to the Philippines often certainly isn't part of bragging when it's minor compared to my other travels. You and I aren't really in the same circle. Good luck though!

Note: I really prefer the Sofitel, but rarely stay there as it's inconveniently located and difficult to get a taxi.
