@  Big geezer : (22 January 2018 - 09:53 AM)

This MeToo thing.... How does a guy in the US go about asking a colleague for a date these days without it potentially being called sexual harassment? And what about simple flirting? Am I exaggerating the potential problems or are they real?

Good Makati hotel close to the action at Burgos, lots of freelancers outside the foyer and in the street.  Getting a bit dated but still not a bad choice for the budget minded.

city garden grand is over the road from it now, if your budget is a little higher go for there but city garden is fine and a stones throw from the action!

City Garden Grand is way better. As Puki says if you've got a few extra dollars to spend on a hotel I'd recommended upgrading.

http://www.makati.ci...rdenhotels.com/used to be one of the first places I stayed at.  The rooftop bar was great back then and has lost a bit now that the St Giles is built next to it and taller blocking out one side.  Kalayaan Avenue can get busy and noisy so you may want to ask for the highest room possible away from it.

Agree about the noise , stayed here a while back...room faced Makati Ave ,. windows were not tight ...lots of street noise, on request they put me on the top floor , still facing Makati ave but was better. Breakfast was pretty good , great location for P Burgos , literally around the corner.

I've stayed several times at the Best Western Oxford Suites which has a great location. Rooms are very big but it is seriously only at best a 3 star hotel. However for Burgos action it was fine for me. I was paying low 50's both times off of Agoda.

Check AirBnB. I just booked an awesome deal for two nights that was half the price I normally spend. There are literally thousands of listings available in the MNL area at prices much better than hotels.

what is the policy on girls here? do they need to be checked in? I am currently booked in the holiday inn suites Makati but might change here so that I can be close to the action and maybe do a daytime run as well as the evening.
