I noticed a massive screen and party tents setup in front of Café Havana today at Greenbelt 3 by KIA for a World Cup viewing party. I asked one of the people from KIA there and of course I got the Filipino "don't know what you are talking about" stare hahaha. Sometimes I feel I am asking them how to split atoms ;-)
I found the event listed in all of the Philippine newspapers after doing a Google search but of course they don't tell you what you have to do to attend. Does anyone know if you need to buy tickets? Reserve a space? Etc... Any details would be great. Would love to see the US game on Tuesday there.
Here is one article I was able to find, all of the papers are running the same story with no details of course (gotta love the news in the Philippines): www.philstar.com/sports/2014/06/12/1333933/world-cup-games-greenbelt-3

did you happen to find out anything else about thie World Cup Viewing Party? What a bad time to go vacation in the Philippines..and I get there Sunday...hoping they get this whole viewing party straightened out.

Why is it a bad time to vacation here (other than rainy season starting)? I am going there tomorrow to find out more. I am on my way home now and it's raining so I definitely will not go to see what's up with the viewing party tonight.
No worries, all of the bars that have TV's on Burgos will definitely have the World Cup on. Worse case you can always go to Hooters within walking distance of Burgos as well. Tons of places to see the World Cup here in the Philippines :-)

Bad timing?: 1) World Cup time 2) rainy season....but thanks, i was hoping for a big open theater type venue since it's the World Cup.. All else fails, I'll most likely do the Hooters thing for most of these games. Don't know where to go for the USA v Ghana at 6am on tue (local time)

Living here I don't have the vacation mindset so I definitely see how the rainy season might affect your vacation (of course if your coming here for something other than just the bars). According to the weather reports the big storms are suppose to come near the end of the month, beginning of July. AC has been getting hammered with heavy rain for the past week. All my girls
in AC keep messaging me to come here to Manila instead since it has not been raining that bad here (yet)
Like you I want a big venue for soccer as well, I prefer the atmosphere of a bigger venue. Let me recon tomorrow and I will let you know what I find out. I take it you are staying around the Makati area?

Sounds about right for this time of year with the heavy rains. I actually never stepped foot on AC grounds but I heard that place is quite interesting!
Actually gonna be in Metro Manila area..but was willing to travel for an event.,.ironically, It was either Rio or Manila...and I chose Manila

Go to the H&J just at the back of Burgos, open 24/7shiwijg all the games, charge of 300 to get in per night but you'll get a bucket of beer for that, they're just trying to eliminate people just viewing the games without buying anything
