The area between Calamba and Los Banos is known for hot springs. There are numerous resorts between the two towns. We stayed in one named City of Springs resort. A lot of the resorts in the area where geared more toward day trippers from Manila. This was a motel. Yes you drive in and can park. Plus it had a hot and cold pool. Here are some pictures.

There is the room. 1800 a night. Had ref, ac, cable, comfortable bed and pillows. Wood floor, nice. No hot water though. Strange as the tap water was warm. Warm enough that a shower was not uncomfortable. Some thing to do with the hot springs.

The hot pool at night. Your thinking hot springs? Well the water is brought in by pipe to what is a tiled swimming pool. All the resorts seemed to be like this.

Mt Makaling from the front door of the room at sunset. It is a must do. You can walk to the top on paved trails from the UP Los Banos campus in around two hours. Forgot the camera that day!!

A giant Bouganvilla. We spent like 4 days there. Lounging in the hot pool, eating and drinking. Calamba is the birth place of Rizal so a few things to see there, plus a SM. Los Banos is smaller but has the University. A big campus with old plantings and interesting buildings.
