There are some people claiming the school shooting in Parkland, Florida is a hoax and was staged. Trying to talk them down on Twitter.

@  oldgoatfarmer : (15 February 2018 - 10:55 PM)

Good morning flying out early any suggestions for decent hotel close to Manila airport?

@  grahamuk : (15 February 2018 - 03:14 PM)

I favour the pragmatic approach too.

@  doctor who : (15 February 2018 - 10:21 AM)

Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte has offered a nearly $A630 bounty for each communist rebel killed by government forces to save on anti-insurgency costs and says insurgents are easier to hit than birds because they have bigger heads.

I never had any issue with yellow or white cab,and it was almost each time at night. But you could book a taxi from the airport...more expensive.

Regardless of which terminal you arrive at, just exit the terminal building and get in the yellow airport taxi at the front of the taxi queue. They are metered and generally cheaper than any other option except for trying to find a standard white taxi.

If you take a metered yellow taxi from the airport it should cost about 200 Pesos. I live in Salcedo Village, which is right in the centre of Makati CBD, and the fare from terminal 3 is almost always 166 Pesos. It would be a bit more that that from the other terminals.

Safest way..........airport taxi,  if you have friends in Makati,  text them the plate number prior to boarding or call them with it,  make sure the driver hears you.....................safety is paramount in Phili.

When you get an airport taxi the attendant will give
you a receipt that has the taxi license plate number
on it and also a phone number to call if you have a bad
experience with the taxi. The receipt is two pieces
of paper. You keep one and give other to driver.
Do not give him both! If you do and he overcharges
you will not have the number to call.
For fun I sometimes give him both and wait for him
to give me my copy. If he does not I ask for my copy
as well as to ask him to turn on the meter if he
has not already done so. Just be careful.
