I should have included the word "much" before more as that is indeed the case. My bad.

@  richie155 : (09 July 2018 - 02:09 PM)

Thanks. Sounds very affordable though, I would've guessed they'd make much more if they actually would put their life on the line...

@  statusquo : (09 July 2018 - 01:05 PM)

Around 700 to 1000 a day depending on the protection you are looking for. More for experienced influential ones. This normally, in addition, includes food and at times lodging. This needs to be made clear. You can hire just an on-call driver who watches your back for about 500 plus expenses and gas.

@  richie155 : (08 July 2018 - 04:03 PM)

how much salary do bodyguards get in the Philippines? the ones who stay loyal and won't kidnap you themselves?

Cottage kitchen is my favorite but on occasion they don't have what we want to order.

Swiss chalet is good.

Bunny burger is good for burgers and hamburger type food.

The guy that sells those kebabs/Schwarma at the front of Spearmint for drunk food.

I'm not a fan of Tequilla reef, Phillies, kokomos, margarita station, or the paradise beer garden.

If you're not budget-conscious and like Asian food there is a great Chinese place on the Macarthur Highway about five minute walk from the McDonalds. I want to say it's called Fortune something.

Had breakfast at Kokomo's once...can't say I really enjoyed it and besides I thought it was way overpriced.

I like Phillies and Hang Out for their hotdog and fries. The waitresses at Phillies are cute, but hardly the reason to eat there.

If you are afraid of making the trip up to perimeter and are stuck eating down at Fields I'd recommend the following:

- Margarita station, especially the mango margaritas. They have "girlie" specials of the day for food for like 60 pesos which are actually about enough food for me, better to eat light and constantly when you're out anyway.

- Right across the St from Paradise beer garden theres a little korean place called "Ju-Mong", awesome Korean food for not that much. Bowl of ramen and some good kimchi only set you back about 100 peso.

- Bunny Burger is pretty solid and 24/7 delivery I have availed enough times where I just text them and they already know what to bring and where.

- Kokomos has some good options, but also a lot of crap food thats over priced. They have like 1000 things on the menu so it really depends. decent Indian food for sure.

- Philiies has great breakfast special, but is otherwise overpriced. Their nachos are actually just chips and salsa and cost i think 200 peso. I laughed so hard the first time I ordered that. Great place to chill and have a draft beer though.

- Carousel actually has some decent pizza and they have some good german sausage type stuff (Brats, etc) at reasonable prices.

- There is a shawarma place across the st. from I want to say fantasy, but I could be off I always end up there trashed, but they have really good gyro pita burrito style type shawarma for cheap. They are small you probably want 2-3.

If you are willing to make the trip of to Perimeter, thats where the really good food spots are, for much more reasonable prices:

- Niji japanese/korean/chinese/sushi, solid place. A little pricey but worth it, very high quality.

- Amore Mio - best italian in Angeles that I've had. Even better than Piccolo Padre which charges 3x as much.

- Myrnaki little tiny greek place near Rumi, little expensive but if you crave real Greek like mousaka it might be your only option

- Lewis Grand hotel, the mediterranean looking place has fantastic food for pretty reasonable prices.

- Cottage Kitchen - good authentic southern style BBQ - ribs, brisket, etc.

- Clarkton, a little generic and pricey but quality and consistent

- #1 diner. Good prices, especially on the Curry Steve stuff which I have at least once a week. Very friendly staff. Draft beer & live music as well on weekends.

Fortune Chinese and C'Italian have got to be the two best restaurants IMO.  Never had a bad meal in either restaurant.   I've heard that C'Italian is back in business after the fire.   Anyone confirm?

One meal a day is plenty.  Maybe throw in a small snack.  Get out and drink, have fun.  You can eat when you get back home.

Bunny Burger: did not like, strange tasting meat

Dollhouse Restaurant: ok, nice to sit streetside in aircon & watch evening parade

Jollibee: Purina bargirl Chow

Kokomos: sewer stench can be overwhelming

Margarita Station: ok

Paisano’s Pizza: ok

Paradise Beer Garden: ok, another evening parade point

Phillies: ok, but steaks not

Royal Amsterdam: ok

Salvatore’s: did not like

Swiss Chalet: nice place, good food, aircon

Tequila Reef: good, but don't care for some dishes

Wild Orchid: good

Everyones taste is different , so for me , there is no really good restaurants in angeles, unless you pay a lot of money ,swiss chalet, picolo pardre, etc the best of the reasonable places for me would be , bunny burger, t reef, clarkton hotel, cafe d,the new ethnic restaurants by the new chowking nr sm mall.
kokomos and margarita station are awful, but if you are american, maybe the food would be to your taste

Two Places:

1. I've been eating at Iguana's (used to be called Zapata's) for 11 years.  Excellent quality Mexican food at reasonable prices IMHO.  Nice ambiance as well.  You wouldn't think you were in the PI.  Only drawback is it's now located way down Don Juico Ave on the fringe of Korea Town.

2. New York Supreme for outstanding pizza.  Located on Mac Arthur Blvd down a little ways from Saver's Mall on the opposite side of the street in red/black building.

I live here in the PI. I love Kokomos for the comfort food. Yes service is slow sometimes but the food is great. Quesadias at reef are pretty good too for a midnight snack.
