Around 700 to 1000 a day depending on the protection you are looking for. More for experienced influential ones. This normally, in addition, includes food and at times lodging. This needs to be made clear. You can hire just an on-call driver who watches your back for about 500 plus expenses and gas.

As above, use the day (or maybe two) to have fun in Angeles.
How far away are you travelling from ie length of flight ?
If its from Europe say, I would rest in Angeles at least one day but if your flying in from somewhere in s e Asia I would get the bus from dau (in Angeles) and then get a taxi or trike from olongapo (Subic bay).
The bus and trike option is about 300 peso the bus next day option is 500 and is booked from your hotel (either kokomos minivan or, southern cross bus, pick up directly from your hotel to your hotel door).

Take taxi (trike) at the airport
-> Go to Dau bus terminal
-> Take a bus to olangapo city bus terminal
->take trike to Subic bay.
It would be the cheapest but longest option.

Sorry. It’ already mentioned in #3

Your right that’s more than double the price it should be. As referred to above stay in angeles overnight and check out the Southern Cross shuttle website. Nice bus for P500 that will pick you up at various location

Answer is based on particulars

- did you book for the same day as your flight so have to get to Subic right away

- how much baggage do you have

- are you on a small budget so that's why you want a cheaper transport to Subic

- you aware comfort might be sacrificed a bit by going bare bones cheap

If me, answer will be

going with what others have said above to go cheap is the only concern.

Set up an appointment with someone like Jim at AC Bike Rentals if space, comfort AND cost is what I'm looking for.

Good luck to you and have a great trip

Nothing but choices:

1. Beeway car pick up at airport-2500P

2. This depends on arrival time: Taxi to Brass Knob(pay for 1 night in the room) if you arrive early 4-500P, then in the morning walk downstairs and grab the shuttle to Subic 500P. I have no idea how late the latest arrival flights are into Clark besides Asiana, but if you arrive after that you could always stay at a ST hotel for 700P for up to 6hrs approx, then go to Brass Knob etc, etc.

3. Take a taxi to the bus terminal in Dau(about 4-500P)and then the bus to Subic(Under 200P)

4. Take the hotel taxi like you said.

What do I do? I take the car from Beeway, so I have total control of my departure time, I'm comfortable and 2500P is no big deal to me.

Yeah, if you get to Clark at 10am you could have Beeway pick you up and you would get to Subic(Barretto)by noon-1PM depending on how fast you get through Immigration and Customs. You are not coming in on a Friday or Saturday are you?

If your hotel has quoted P4500, that might be including a return trip to Clark, in which case it's not a bad price. It is way too high for a one way trip though.

I always use a Margarita Station car, which was P2200 last time and very reliable.  (045) 322 0354

For future trips or for a cheap return from Barretto you can take Angel's Bakery shuttle to Angeles at 1 PM or so for 250  php?  He will even pick you up at your Barretto hotel or Harbor Point and drop you at Clark airport if it works for you - tip the driver!.

It leaves Angeles at 7 or 8 AM to Barretto and does the 1 or 2 PM return daily.  Nice van with A/C and room for luggage.

Are you sure your hotel knows you will be in Clark? PHP4500 sounds more like a pick up from Manila to Subic.
With a 10am arrival at Clark you have plenty of time to get Angel's Bakery van.

I agree this is a good service, but the Angels Bakery bus from Angeles to Barretto leaves too early for many guys. 8 am I think?

It is also first come, first served and I was stranded in Barretto once because the bus coming back was already full. I had to stay an extra night, get drunk and sleep with another sexy girl. Very inconvenient!!

Sounds like its narrowed down to two options, option one) the bus from dau to olongapo then trike to barretto, including 500 peso taxi from airport to dau bus station about 1000 peso all in.
Option two) private car, (beeway, margarita station, nicebike) airport to barretto hotel all in 2200 to 2500 peso.

The heads up winner after a long flight is the private car, convenient, comfortable and door to door. Don't do the bus not after a long flight !

You should be able to book online, a quick search on the forum and you'll find the respective emails.

PS the time you land you miss the departure of the kokomos and southern cross shuttle runs.

Good luck have a great time.

Ok. Traffic won't be as bad as Friday. Sometimes the influx of filipinos going to Barretto on Fri and going back on Sundays can slow things down. Perhaps, someone that lives there can chime in with a little more accurate info on traffic conditions. I usually stay there during the week when it's quiet.

Which hotel is quoting php4,500?
That's the norm for a pick up at NAIA, not Clark.
Always worth double checking.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was going to ask the same thing. I am headed back to Olongapo in a month. I have looked around for decent cheap transportation also. I received a quote from onestoptravel dotorg a couple days ago. Here it is
"Thank you for the request. The cost of transfer from Angeles to Subic is US$60 / 3,000php, distance approx 95km, travelling time normally around 1.5 hours depending on traffic.

This includes parking fees at the airport, reasonable waiting time while you clear immigration and customs, road tolls etc., there are no extra costs.

For the transfers we normally use a SUV or Toyota Innova people carriers. These are NOT SHARED vehicles."
