Just to add some thoughts to the C saga. Think of his user name, his constant need for reassurance both from his woman and followers of his blogs. @bill44ca & Psychman , most guys at too busy with our own lives to over think how a 70+ year old monger deals with his, maybe you guys need a little something extra in yours lives

@  bill44ca : (20 November 2017 - 04:25 AM)

The constant need for cuddling is not normal and if she is the same and he can't even walk ahead of her there are bound to be problems. Maybe he didn't want to finish the TR and admit the fights and shame

@  Gillette : (20 November 2017 - 03:52 AM)

Well, that is a very reasonable analysis in my opinion Psychman.

@  Psychman : (20 November 2017 - 03:50 AM)

The end :)

@  Psychman : (20 November 2017 - 03:50 AM)

I have learned a ton about the hobby by others exploring the practices of others...to have someone say my behavior is not for discussion goes beyond the nature of what an internet forum is

@  Psychman : (20 November 2017 - 03:49 AM)

example..years ago, there were a few guys who made a walk between a mongering spot and a certain hotel in San Jose Costa Rica last at night..they insisted it was safe..they were challenged on this behavior, not for them, but for newbies and others...to not challenge them would be to be complicit ...same thing when mongers hear others going down certain paths....

@  Psychman : (20 November 2017 - 03:47 AM)

The whole point of challenging some of his ideas and MO was not for HIM, but for others..that is the nature of this board, and boards like it-ideas are presented and discussed so all can learn from them, not for one men's ego..that is what a personal blog is for..

@  Psychman : (20 November 2017 - 03:45 AM)

HankMTV..I will answer, at least for me. C tolerated no feedback or discussion that did not 100 percent agree with his actions or perceptive. This is a board for the free exchange of ideas, and that type of controlling behavior will get push back. Especially since he was more than free to evaluate other people's ideas in other threads. And Old Fart, bossy at best, but really controlling beyond belief

@  bill44ca : (20 November 2017 - 03:30 AM)

@tacolover I don't know anything about facial recon either but if that is possible Cudddler might have posted the same photos on facebook as on the board. Maybe Biggles knows if he even used her real name if he met her she might not even named Mars

Very disappointed to hear that smoking is allowed in rooftop bar.

I'm sorry you feel that way. We consider this to be a reasonable compromise, within the law. All customers are important to us, and the evidence strongly suggests that a broad spectrum of customers continue to happily co-exist as they have always done. The only thing that has changed in the bar is that a smoke-free, air-conditioned area has been created to accommodate non-smokers.

I guess its time for Subic and others to buy a Chainsaw and cut some big ass holes in the walls , and copy the precedent setting of cheap charlies?

Yeah, right.

How about something a little less complicated like putting some tables and chairs outside where you can enjoy a smoke? Then, when you're finished, you stroll back into a wonderfully air conditioned ground floor bar with 25 or 30 dancers and GROs. Better yet, take one of the girls (who smoke) with you to keep you company.

Cheap Charlies was my favorite bar in Subic.

Did that bar become your favorite bar within the last two months?   If not, nothing has changed for you to be disappointed about, because smoking was allowed before two months ago.  The only thing that has changed should be a positive for you if you are a non-smoker.   They now have an airconditioned non-smoking area, whereas before the whole area was smoking.

I hope that this is how the ordinance will be eventually implemented. This should cater to both smokers and non-smokers. And I think the set-up of most bars in Subic, unlike AC, would easily accommodate it as many have sufficient open space between the frontage and the Highway.

Has this already happened in any of the bars, Subic?  If not, when do you think it might happen, in your bars at least?

It's already happened. We implemented it the day it went into effect. It's working out very well.

Some of the bars are still allowing smoking, its hit and miss, enforced some places others disregarded.
Generally the bigger places are following the rules the smaller ones, more casual.

That's great to hear! It is refreshing to know that the Authorities do enable common sense outcomes, from time to time at least! LoL!

In the Maze, some bars are not road fronting (eg. the original Rum Jungle) or are upstairs (Rapscallion?). I guess there's not much you can do about these.  But if you have smoking areas in the front of the other bars, that is already good news, for smokers (and non-smokers, who can enjoy a smoke-free bar inside!)

Subic,

So is that the set up with the Maze bars, there are a few tables and chairs out front where I can bring my beer, and have a smoke? Great news if that is the case.

How are other places, like Toucans and Midnight Rambler handling things with their outdoor seating areas?

When the floating bars return, will they allow smoking?

Cheers!

Some good questions.

1. We currently have smoking in front of all the bars. Tables and chairs are in the pipeline.

2. I imagine bars with patios have their smoking areas located there, as well. I've been told that some bars are ignoring the ban, but have no proof.

3. The floating bar question is interesting. It's my thought that they will allow smoking.

There are some bars (smaller ones) who are flouting the ban.
My guess, their not comfortable with it but will overlook regulars provided they are discrete.
I'm a lifelong non smoker and notice these things but I tolerate the problems maybe, some owners are having dealing with the diehards.
Mostly and certainly in all of the main big bars, the law is observed and working well and makes for more comfortable atmosphere (for non smokers).

It would be kind of hard to raid a floating bar looking for smokers.
Telephoto lenses and drones at the ready though.

Thanks for the update. As a smoker here in Canada, I am used to stepping outside for a smoke, no big deal, except when it is -20. Glad to hear some accommodations are being made for smokers. Bars that follow the law and also set up a little smoking area for their customers will get my business. A small point, I hope that the bars also put ashtrays of some sort outside. Ever since the smoking ban has gone into effect here in Toronto, the sidewalks outside of clubs and bars are just littered with butts. If there is some place to put a cigarette butt, most smokers will use it.

Cheers!

Why would they raid it?   Are the floating bars enclosed public places?    I was under the oppression the floating bars had no roof and no walls.

They have a roof but no walls, so you are correct they are not enclosed.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of follow up to the original law or by law that was formed.
Initial inspections then nothing since. In Angeles hiso has gone back to smoking probably other smaller places may too.
In Subic I noticed at least one bar openly allowed smoking (about 3-4 wks ago), possibly this will spread if the law is not enforced and inspections don't occur.

Yes, some bars will revert to allowing smoking. And the euphoria will last - until the 1st time they are inspected.
