Because human-rights groups have agenda's it's that simple, and they don't get any mileage from the Marawi incident.

@  doctor who : (24 May 2017 - 06:36 AM)

Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:58 PM)

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

Buy a drink , pay a drink , don't run up tab . They used to have a nudie show starting about 22:00 or 23:00 . Lady drinks can get pricy , pay as you go . I never got a bar fine there , I think the girls are pricy too .

In the Cucaracha I got quoted 3000, but strictly short time only and the first other question she was asking: "you got a condom?"... introduction of a star fish.

But if you feel bored in Bario, get a ride and watch them stripping. I think you must buy 2 beers minimum.

Yes, the girls I saw at Cucaracha were much better, sort of like Dunk Shot compared to Perimeter bars, but they didn't seem very interested in foreigners (sort of like Dunk Shot, LOL) and the place was full of mostly Pinoy customers.

The atmosphere was more like 2up2 in AC, not very upscale, but not unsafe and is not far away at all, from BB. Could walk if you absolutely had to. I first saw the place when I was just out walking and sightseeing one morning. Like any strip show in PI, it's as boring as hell, takes forever to get around to any nudity, which lasts for about 15 seconds, and then she runs off stage.

Unfortunately, they are gone. But, they leave us with fond memories. Don't forget Fox Hole, Eagle's Nest, Muff Divers, Miami, Silver Dollar, Tahiti and a couple more.

^It's not really that clean in many Pinoy bars, or local restaurants, that should just be expected.  Curious about the 'street girls' though as I didn't see any the times I was around BB.

No street girls in Barretto, If you want some then have to take the blue jeepney into Olongapo city. There are usually a few hanging around the small triangle park across from the main market at night. May not be the best lookers though.

From what i remember the last time i visited there.

These are mostly local Pinoy hangouts. Only a few foreigners will visit them. I was the ONLY foreigner the night i visited.
They are generally safe to visit as long as you dont start trouble (remember these are local hangouts so you are always outnumbered at least 10 to 1 )
These bars are not the type where all the girls are on stage at one time. More like 1 at a time for a few songs then rotate to another girl.
Prices for your drink is ok, prices for anything else (LD, BF) will be about 1.5 to 2x the cost of a typical Barretto bar.
Ok for a visit if you are bored and seek another diversion. Remember DONT GET DRUNK and insult anyone at these places.
Hope this helps
