Because human-rights groups have agenda's it's that simple, and they don't get any mileage from the Marawi incident.

Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:58 PM)

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

Over this past weekend I attended the SOB. Won a door prize for 50% of room at Corn Silk Towers - Baloy Beach. No address or contact number is listed on the voucher. Spent two hours asking around trying to find the place. Trike drivers never heard of it. Searched internet and nothing.  Would like to avail usage of that discount but can't find the place. Anyone have contact information or address?? Thanks in advance.

Sweetcorn towers was the place I got a coupon for at an SOB, so that might be the place (as mentioned above). Nice regular studio apartment style hotel. Would stay there again. Google maps isn't up to date in that area, but it's the place beside South Sea Pearl, sort of near Kokomos.

My apologizes. The original name was (I think) Corn Silk. But, it could have been Sweet Corn. I'll change the coupons this week. BTW, the feedback we've had has been very good.

Thanks...would you be willing to exchange coupon for a corrected version if am there very soon? Am wanting to avoid confusion at the hotel? I for sure want to give the place a try, but since was not able to locate the place was unable to make future travel arrangements or reservation. My clock is ticking..May 19 expiration.

Of course. There's absolutely no problem. I'll be back in Barretto tomorrow and will stay until Monday morning.

I saw that place..showed the coupon and was told that it wasn't their place. Hopefully will get this corrected and be able to avail the coupon and stay there. That's my favorite area. Less beach congestion, near floating bars and all things needed are right there.Still like Kokomos best but am having booking issues there as well.Told that PI Addicts discount only for walk in customers, reservation not accepted..waiting on that info also...Stayed Subiza and was ok..overpriced. poor value for the money. Have personal goal to stay in all the hotels on Baloy Long Beach and write TripAdvisor reviews. Thanks for responding!

TripAdvisor link says Subic Freeport Zone location, but in reading the reviews seems like Baloy location...more confusion in my small brain

Thanks!  Plan on going to SOB again Friday. Will look you up then. The announcer at last Fridays SOB said it is in Buccaneer again, but a girlfriend there says it is at Rapscallion...which is correct? Very enjoyable event..Buccaneer has special meaning for me and will forever be a favorite,

Sort of wouldn't surprise me. The Western gent who owned the place was nice enough and had an engaging story, but he wasn't particularly enthusiastic about accepting the 2 nights for the price of 1 coupon, and that coupon had the right name on it.  He studied it like a hawk, as if he thought it was fake, and then said very skeptically and without any implied humor that he "guessed" he could give me two nights at that price.

I still liked the hotel though, nice and private.

I'll sort everything out. Perhaps it's changed hands since the owner contacted me about including them in SOB and Aftermath. If so, we'll substitute Kokomo's as they will always accept the coupons.
