@  doctor who : (24 May 2017 - 06:36 AM)

Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:58 PM)

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

Tried to make a reservation today at Kokomos online booking and wanted a specific room, so I contacted the online help,  A few hours passed and an agent called me. Very professional. The room is available and she was willing and able to fully  l reserve it for me. I then inquired about the PI Addicts discount and was told it is not available.  ???? Said to her that the hotel is listed on the discount sheet. I was then told ok but discount is only available for walk in customers...you have to book at full price to avail the room...Well this didn't settle well with me and have cancelled plans to stay there. If i walk in maybe rooms are not available and won't have a room at all,  but if I book online no discount...feel like a loser in this either way..Anyone else out there that can enlighten me on the true procedure or way to reserve a room using the discount?

Let me talk to the owner. He's currently in the States, and sometimes the inmates run the asylum.

Just want to clarify my frustration is with the reservation process and procedures, not about the money. Yes I like discounts and feel when available they should be awarded. Noted we are in PI, but i did not expect the frustration encountered and denied use of PI Addicts card with this hotel. Had hoped others on this board may have had a similar experience and could provide a way to reserve and apply the discount.

After living here for nearly 30 years, I fully understand your frustration(s). I emailed the owner and am awaiting his reply.

Only been here 13 years and still learning every day...not expecting some kind of miracle resolution to my small problem, rather am looking for the rules and proper procedure for using the online booking and discount combination. Maybe it's not possible...seeking answers only. Thank you SUBIC for reading and inquiring about this for me. Much appreciated.

Alfredo, I finally had a chance to speak with the owner. First of all, Kokomo's is a P-A friendly hotel. They gladly discount their rooms to our members. What happened was a somewhat typical problem whereby the staff, rather than saying "I don't know or Can I get back to you?" just gave the safest and easiest answer.

The online booking provider does not have a provision for discounts in the booking form. This is also true for many other booking providers. We have 2; Agoda and Reservations-plus. Agoda does not have the provision while Reservations Plus do. Anyway, the correct answer would have been for you to book the room, and the hotel would refund the discount upon arrival. This is, in fact, the way we handle it here at Paradise.

Ron (the owner) is not a member of P-A and asked me to extend his sincerest apologizes and to offer you a free room for a night upon your next visit.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
