Odds about even to van driving like bat out of hell...but the plane is much cheaper and faster.

Yes I would, I've flown with them before - they are professional and their equipment is new and well maintained. I would trust them over the average bus or taxi in the Philippines...

Have you used their services or are you just sniping with your first post?

Website does not provide much detail on departure & arrival locations other to say Manila Bay and Subic Bay Airport (assume that is out on Cubi Point). Trip time of 20 min is a bit misleading as that only represents air time and not other investment in time getting from Manila to Barretto such as transit from hotel or NAIA to Manila port, Cubi to Barretto or delays associated with MNL traffic patterns. Unlikely they get much priority when it comes to arrival/departure slots in MNL airspace. Also wondering if a person shows up at the appointed reservation time and is the only passenger will they cancel or reschedule the trip.

Wouldnt trust it for a second but equally I don't have much trust in the various drivers who pick you up from the airport. At best they will only use a mobile phone for calling during heavy traffic, at worst they will send text messages  while doing 100km/h on the NLEX, continuously appear to doze off, speed like idiots or tailgate every car in front of them.

Bottom line is, you are just as safe if not more safe flying with airjuan.

Safest way to travel in the Philippines is with a reputable bus company like victory liner.

Around 2005 I recall another airline, Seair perhaps. which landed and took off from Manila Bay near the US  Embassy.  I seem to remember their license being suspended for safety shortcomings.

I wish Air Juan the best  and hope the live up everyone's expectations.  If there are safety shortcomings (how would any of us possibly know) I hope they are resolved before ending in disaster.

Believe they also service Manila - Puerta Galera.

I would have no issue with flying with them. At least they can land on water......if the engine fails

Are these planes allowed to fly over land mass? I know they cant land on hard surfaces but just as a technicality. Prolly not much difference (end result) plunging into sea or concrete from 20000 ft..but just for curiosity sake.

The Cessna Grand Caravan 208 Amphibieversion and its floaters comes with small landinggears attached as well(retractables), so it can also land on hard surfaces(aka a runway). Its all about the floaters attached. Since the floaters are heavy the amphibieversion of this Cessna comes with stronger Pratt&Withney engine(more horsepowers due to more drag, more resistance in water takeoffs, weight of the floaters etc etc). They can fly over land.
In my book its an safe airplane and its known to operate amongst the toughest environment around the planet. Beachsides dep/arr is an easy breeze to this old workhorse..

I forgot to add if i ever, from reasons unknown to man, will go up there to Subic(or Puerto Galera)this would be my means of transportation if i lived at ie New World Manila Bay or Hyatt/Crown/Nobu COD in the first place(not to far from the seaport)..

The Air Juan pier in Manila is at the Sun Cruises jetty, at the Culture Center, and lets you off near the Subic Airport.  They also fly to Puerto Galera, and Boracay plus other island destinations.

they are amphibians. So for idiots like you that means that they can land on water or hard surface runways.

Where did it say it was Amphibious?  In the original picture, it is called a seaplane.  It is a Cessna 208, there are variants of Seaplane and Amphibious.  I'm just asking a question.  If you gonna attack and insult me, at least known how to spell Amphibious.  Amphibians refers to an animal, so you are the idiot that can't distinguish between an aircraft and an animal. Figures, its always the dumb ones here trying to make themselves smarter than others.

While I have no problems with the quality of their aircraft or pilots, consider this:

1. You probably have to be at the terminal at least 45 minutes before departure. If leaving from Subic, figure 40 minutes from Bo. Barretto and who know how long if you're in MNL.

2. Your luggage weight might be limited.

3. Flight time is 20 minutes. My guess is that it does not include taxi, takeoff, approach landing and taxi to the pier. It's probably closer to 40 minutes 'door-to-door'

4. This time of year, weather is unpredictable. If you are taking them to connect with a flight at MNL, it could be a horror story.

5. Transportation to/from the pier might be up to P500. A car from Barretto/MNL or VV is P4,500 and, depending on the time of day will take around 3 hours.

If time and/or punctuality are not an issue, it's a great way to go.

Well if you look at the picture it is obvious. Amphibian and Amphibious are one and the same thing and interchangable just like Seaplane and Float Plane. so sorry if I offended your little mind. Do a little research so that you might at least appear to be a little smarter.
