If you are heading to AC bring an umbrella, lots of rain. Got an empty block opposite us and so much water I am waiting for the ducks to arrive!

Appetites and lifestyles are diverse, Bangkok can be cheaper than Pattaya if you know the scene. Even for local Thais, anything in a tourist area like Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai and others is more expensive.

@  Biggles : (17 July 2018 - 03:06 AM)

Your money will most likely go further in Pattaya, hotels and p4p is not as expensive as BKK.

Hi guys, I'm arriving in cebu on Sunday 14th Feb, and was looking to stay at Pillows, but their rates seem to be just under 2k per night on Agoda,
What alternatives are there around the 1k to 1.5k that's close to mango sq. any useful tips appreciated. Thanks. an earlier post on pillows mentioned a 1k promo for a 14nt stay, but I can't find any more info on that..

You may try emailing them but I think they took it down, the banner.

It's Chinese New Years so all the hotels are overpriced.

*Rajah Park
*M Citi Suite
*Mango Park.
*Adelfa hotel

Are reasonable alternatives not far from Mango.

If you want really cheap, try Dynasty hotel. About 10 min walk from Mango. I saw it on sale for $20 USD all in few times.

McSherry's on Palaez St. [down the alley at Mercedes hotel] is 500p for fan room and 600p for air-con. All rooms have private CR.  They also have short time rooms, I think 250p for 3 hours.  Palaez St. is down from Colon St. One jeep ride to Mango area.

Drop by Pillows and ask the front desk if they still have that P1K, 14 day min stay promo.   Their walk in rate is P1400 per day I believe (all-in) including breakfast.

There is also a new place called Citiscape (not the one in Mandaue City), its very near Pillows hotel.  Last time I went pass it, they had P1500 daily rate.

Hi darkacre, have checked & they still have the 1k promo, but have decided to only stay a week. I'm pleased with the room & rate. The 1400 all-in is for a windowless room, so I've gone for the 1.5k room without breakfast, see pics below..Attached File  uploadfromtaptalk1455771790445.jpg   692.4KB   15 downloadsAttached File  uploadfromtaptalk1455771806098.jpg   703.36KB   16 downloadsAttached File  uploadfromtaptalk1455771817982.jpg   718.39KB   15 downloadsAttached File  uploadfromtaptalk1455771829504.jpg   736.1KB   16 downloadsAttached File  uploadfromtaptalk1455771842197.jpg   742KB   14 downloads

Yea its a great deal if you stay for 2 weeks as it includes breakfast. Its better than many budget hotels around there and location is right near Mango. Theres a good ribs place decent price on the same side of street, 100 meter away. A few massage places opposite direction on the way to JAve. I always stay here, very good value.

Why don't you try somewhere in Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City? There’s a lot of affordable condo’s, and the service is good. I’ve been to Mactan few times already, and I can recommend Kiener Hills, SDR Apartments, and Island Stay hotel.

They have different quality of services and great offers that meet your needs, like free access of WIFI, serving sumptuous foods and they maintained their good quality for the satisfaction of their clients. The price is reasonable and the place is not that far from beaches and for activity adventures. One of my favorites is  Kiener Hills, you can check their page http://kienerhills.c...-suited-for-you.

I'd like to rent a furnished apartment with wifi. Free wifi is the norm in Thailand with cleaning 1-2 times/week.

How to avoid getting screwed on the damage deposit.

Are there ever any deals where electric is included?

What about cleaning?

Any recommendations?

Thank you.

I was kicking around the idea of buying a studio at Kiener Hills. Unfortunately my CAN$ is tanking and a condo keeps getting more and more expensive. Mind you, after the results of the election, that might change. Who knows...
