Because human-rights groups have agenda's it's that simple, and they don't get any mileage from the Marawi incident.

@  BGC Dude : (25 May 2017 - 01:13 AM)

@  BGC Dude : (25 May 2017 - 01:12 AM)

Where are the human-rights experts when innocent people are being slaughtered by extremist groups? Was the police chief that was beheaded denied his human rights by the Mautes? Where's the internationals

@  Budhah : (24 May 2017 - 07:51 PM)

Just announced on Fox news that the Martial law may go nation wide, because of Isis killing in the South. Fear of it spreading to rest of the PI.

@  doctor who : (24 May 2017 - 06:36 AM)

Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:58 PM)

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

It looks like Warren's Subic Bay has been shut down. What happened to Warren? Other than his poor grammar and spelling I enjoyed his site.

I thought maybe his partner had told him to take the site down, but I see it was back again yesterday when I Googled it.

If you overlook the fact his blog could benefit from a good proof reading for typos and spelling mistakes before posting, I find it to be a refreshing change as it reflects the life of someone who's priorities here these days seem to lie well beyond the bars. I don't think a life of domesticity would suit me but, like you said, it is an interesting enough read.

He also gives fairly accurate guidance regarding the cost of living here (well beyond the price of beer and barfines) which i'm sure anyone thinking of moving here longer-term would find useful.

I was there in late October and although I never spoke to him saw Warren a couple of times playing pool at Johan's. Recognised him from the photos on his blog, that was always an interesting read.

Hi guys, this is Warren. I am still around a doing good, I haven't had much to write about lately so never posted anything, sorry about that.

Being home 95% of the time really stops me from getting about more and keeping things updated.

I hope to have some new stuff posted soon for you.

glad you like my poor spelling and writing but still enjoy the stories. i'll try to do a little better, ok?

Thanks again and have a great New Years.

Warren......Thanks for your posts on your Website.  I enjoyed your site when you were active in the bar scene. I first came to Subic several years ago on vacation based on a recommendation of a friend. Then when I returned home I searched for anything to do with Subic. Your Website came up and I was inspired to return to Subic for more exploration. The rest is history now.....with me living here now.

Me too wasteoftimer!

Well maybe a disclaimer is required - I knew of Subic (late 80's, early 90's) from many moons ago.

Still, Warren was "another" current expat who was going thru the day to day.

Until the later posts on his site, it was a positive lean for me to give a try to make Subic my retirement spot.
