Because human-rights groups have agenda's it's that simple, and they don't get any mileage from the Marawi incident.

@  BGC Dude : (25 May 2017 - 01:12 AM)

Where are the human-rights experts when innocent people are being slaughtered by extremist groups? Was the police chief that was beheaded denied his human rights by the Mautes? Where's the internationals

Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

Oops, my bad, decided to walk the hound that way just now in an effort to reacquaint myself with this new eaterys location, and I found it no problem, just to the left of the 7-11, still appears to be closed, still signs up advertising for staff.

This time I went closer to the "Staff Wanted" sign, imagine my surprise when "hairdresser" was the first position discussed, must be a Thai thing, eat your spicy salad while getting your hair cut, Asian multi tasking perhaps.............alas, NO, whenever I glanced up at the main store sign, for the first time I noticed it's a damn Thai MASSAGE, not Resto after all.

Thanks I will check it out as I regularly take long walks to Friendship and Timog Park. But if it's for massage not what I was looking for.  LOL  I wil walk to Siam House and try their Phad Thai.  I had stopped eating there because I liked home delivery but it was always decent as well.

After my bad Phad Thai at Patches/Changmai I went  back to Siam House where I used to eat.  Open Monday to Saturday 10 AM to 10 PM and kitchen closes 9:30 PM.  Closed Sundays.  I ordered take out.  Food is just as good as Patches and less expensive.  Just no delivery.  Patches has lost me as a customer.  Is after the Savannah hotel next to the 7-11 on Perimeter.  Plenty of ground peanuts on the Phad Thai too!  Way more noodle dishes as well which I love.  Phad Thai and pork satay were 160 pesos each.

It think the Phad Thai is smothered in peanuts in his picture.

If I recall, in Thailand the peanuts are almost always served on the side and added yourself to taste. (personally, I like to add peanuts)

I need to try Siam House.  However, I did like the Phad Thai at Patch's that I ordered about a week ago.  I did have to ask them for the Thai spices which includes peanuts.  I normally add peanuts and ground chili pepper to my Phad Thai.

My Phad Thai from Siam House mixed up just fine at my house.  Made and tasted perfect.  Not the spicy crap Patches/Changmai served me and I had to toss out and this is 20 pesos cheaper.  I live 10 minutes away by jeepney, right close to jeepney route from Siam House, so no problem at all.  I love to walk and take jeeneys.  Good exercise and easy transportation.  Patches/Changmai has lost my business and recommendations to friends I meet here who know I am a foodie.  I like the peanuts and bean sprouts mixed and cooked in.

I love takeout and delivery.  I like to eat a home in front of the TV  at night.  I don't hold grudges after I cool off.  So in all fairness I ordered from Patches/Changmai again. This time, however,  I  was extremely specific with my order.  Their food is always delivered promptly and this time was made exactly the way I wanted it.  I have since ordered again and was done correctly.  So I am back to eating takeout from here and will also pick up from Siam House when I am out in the area.  Both places are close in taste and have different items.  I believe in being fair and truthful in my food posts and giving second chances with updates on siutations.

You are a funny guy.  LOL  Maybe as funny as your seeming pick of TR as the the greatest place in AC.  I have never seen anyone eat so many meals raving about mediocre food. :) My foodie friends agree with me on that. Next you'll be saying TR's Thai food is a good as Patches and Siam house.  LOL  I'll pass on the Mexican pizza too.  Is that really Mexican food or pizza?  Pass!  Still haven't tried Frontera have you?  Don't mistake any more new signs on restaurants either as new places. :)

Don't get crazed up Salt. You started this thread saying this place is "amazing". Then they fuck up one order for you and you drop them like a rock. And ask admin to unpin it.  Now, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, because you got your delivery order the way you want it tonight. What you going to say about it if they fuck up your next order in a few days? A good possibility in this town. Hahaaha! Drop them off again and they suck. What you think?

I don't like aggravation. And my regular places do not give me aggravation like that. I get what I want when I want it and I am happy enough with it.

Cheers,

Funny thread and also how funny everyone's tastes in food are completely different. It just goes to show you how any restaurant can mess things up and how different people react to said "f**k up".

One man's dog shit is another man's medicine with no method to the madness when it comes to food. I live in Thailand half the time so I am lucky that way and get to eat the real deal.

I agree, the food in Thailand kills food in AC. There is not comparison.  And to the guy that said that food in Manila is better, it is.  A much bigger place and more choices.  It's a huge city but I hate big cities and never go there. I also don't hold grudges.  For AC the best Thai food is Patches/Changmai and Siam House.  It was Wanjai but they are long gone as the owners grew old and retired.  Now it's an apartment complex.

No, you are wrong Salt. I have stated on Addicts and PI@N on several different threads that I did not think the Tequila Reef Thai rendition was very good. Does not matter if you don't eat Mexican Pizza, they sell a hell of a lot of it though.  I see people eating it every time I am in the place and as you know I get it occasionally.

I have not tried Fronteria because I think their prices are out of line. Especially on their drinks. 250 P for a margarita??? I don't do a lot of take out and eat it alone in front of the TV at home. I like places with atmosphere and a vibe. Places to chill out and socialize, have a few drinks, talk with my lady, people watch, on occasion chat with friends. So for me it is not ALL about the food, I have other considerations. That's partly why I am not a buffet guy, it's not all about stuffing my gut, I enjoy other aspects.

I have never had  a local PI cheapie pizza so I don't expect to be raving about that anytime soon. Hahahahahaha! So, you don't need to stab me in the eye on every post which is what you do if you realize it or not.

Cheers,

Brother you don't want to try Didi's pizza. My staff at TR loves that place for the pizza and it's the only time I was unable to finish a slice. I think it's 200 pesos for a pizza. The ribs were of lower quality (In comparison to what we buy) and scrawny and the sauce was edible.

I do take out as I work from home and like alone time.   When I want company I simply dial my cell or go to a bar of walk around Fields.  I don't want a gf in AC and the majority of guys with AC wives of gf's fool around anyway.  but that's a whole other story..  I socialize at the gym.  I watch a lot of movies at home downloaded from the Net.  Or US shows I like.  I will try any AC place.  If it was just price I would never have tried Piccolo Padre.  For me I pay girls to leave.  I don't want freebies or drama. LOL

Yes Didi's pizza is the bad PI stuff.  But the ribs for the price are acceptable and I like the sauce.  Not a meal but a nice snack.  Not high end but decent.  If I want higher end ribs I go to Gustav at SM or even the ribs at Xtremely Xpresso in SM are not that bad.

LOL

What you wrote above has very little if anything to do with my post you quoted. But it's all good buddy. Just sit back and relax and enjoy your dinner. Hahahahahahaha!

I always do ulcer and all. :)  Tonight was a total junk night. I had a girl over last night for room service and tonight I am just hanging home.  I don't go to the bars that often.   I'd be too embarrassed to list what I ate at home tonight.  Almost zero nutritional value.  That's what the gym is for.
