Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

This place is amazing.  Prices have never gone up from 2011 or 2012 when they opened in this location.  Others in AC should take notice.  Best Phad Thai by far in AC and still only 180 pesos..  High quality.  I tried the fresh spring rolls for 120 pesos  as well.  I didn't like them that much but loved the dipping sauce that came with them which I will request in the future to put on other dishes.  Best Thai food in AC with the best prices.  And free delivery until 10:45 PM.  0920 531-0378

This place should be pinned.

Salt I'll take your suggestion and pin it. I still haven't tried the place but I've heard a lot of good things about it, certainly enough to have it pinned. Good to know they deliver as well. Personally I always get my Thai food fixes in Thailand as you can't go wrong there but I'll give this place a try.  Thanks for the post and the prices are certainly right. The profit margin on Thai food is enormous by the way. Can be up to 70%.

Malabanis Road next to the old PHI hospital.  If you are on the way to Hensonville and you see the old hospital make a right instead of going left to Hensonville.  They also deliver to 10:45 PM. 0920 531-0378

Location on facebook page, how much for a trike ride from the petron station?

Or is it a good walk from Boomerang?

I'll try it next week.

So far Frontera Mexican and this place are making the list of new places to try.

15 minute walk tops from Boomerang.  Should be 50 peso trike ride but they probably won't offer you that.  I would not pay more than 70 pesos.  They also deliver to 10:45 PM and are closed on Mondays.

Where as I did not see any on Friendship.

Left side heading outta town, same side as the new BDO, can't remember exactly where but was on the first half before the bridge, strange tall skinny sign above a doorway which made me suppose it was going to be an upstairs establishment; I meant to look again and try to remember exactly where it's located but forgot thus far....grey matter isn't as prolific as it used to be apparently!

Did not see it.  I need a more specific location and what part of Friendship and anything it is near.   I am mad at Patches/Changmai right now.  I will try Siam House again.  With my ulcer I have to eat mild.  I ordered Phad Thai which is never spicy.  They made it spicy and claimed that was their mild Phad Thai.  Since when is Phad Thai ever spicy and I asked for it mild, not spicy.  I had it delivered and had to throw it out.  They would have replaced it but asked me to scoop it all out of my big garbage pail which I was not going to do.  Poor customer service. Am I wrong that Phad Thai is totally not spicy.  Usually it is on the sweet side which I like.  I have eaten it from there so many times.  Time to try Siam House again or see if this new Thai place exists.  Damn Changmai hurt my stomach bad as in mild they put in chili's and then claimed it was their mild.  I have had it so many times before from there and it never tasted spicy like this..

It should not be very spicy but have a little bite to it from the chilli power also with some sweet and sour notes because if the palm sugar, fish sauce and lime.

The idea is you can bake it taste spicier etc by adding the usual Thai condiments to it.

Seems very random what did they pull?

I ate their today, service is Filipino style, but the food is good.  Actually spicy beef in oyster sauce, spicy dishes in AC seem to be rare.  Also had fresh spring rolls were good enough for me.

I have an ulcer.  I did take out.  I was explicit that I wanted it very mild, not spicy which would mean no chili at all which they have done fro me before..  I have eaten it like 15 times from here,.  It was spicy with green and red chili. It hurt my stomach and was burning my lips.  It set my stomach on fire and I had to dump it.  Normally it is sweet and tangy from here which I prefer.  I went back and forth with them texting to replace it as I live about five minutes from them.  I dumped it in the garbage and they wanted me to gather it out of the garbage after many texts to replace it.  I told them to forget it.  They have never made it for me like this when i was explicit about very mild and not spicy.   With an ulcer that's why I ordered it as there is only certain food I can eat right now..  I will eat from Siam House in the future,.  I used Changmai more because they deliver. Siam House doesn't.  Siam House has a much bigger Thai menu but delivery was convenient.

I may be nitpicking but I am not a fan of spicy food  As I have ordered this many times I was surprised that they made it this way.  My favorite Thai place in AC was Wanjai but the Thai owner was older and retired years ago and the place demolished.  I miss the food from there.

I get why you're pissed Salt, but a 15:1 ratio of good to bad experiences, especially in AC, ain't bad my friend.

Choosing an alternative, with inferior food and higher prices that don't deliver doesn't seem like the smart alternative, why not go and speak to the owner of Patchs in person and explain your condition and dietary requirements; I've learnt in AC that "don't burn your bridges" is infinitely more important here than in the real world.

Swallowing ones pride does leave a sour taste I know, but better a sour taste one time compared to a lack of home delivery, increased costs and less palatable cuisine, well, most of the time at least!

one not cooked the way you like it out of 15 is very good odds to keep eating there.  it is PI and you expect perfect 15 out of 15 would be hard to get in PI. even burger places get things wrong or pizza places

I agree 1 in 15 meals being bad is pretty good but as a regular customer they should have taken your word for it and replaced your meal without you having to get it out of the garbage.

For me, it's like this, while I agree with the above, in AC, the standard response from pretty much any establishment is, that they will require the return of the faulty food, so no matter how frustrated, angry or in pain you are, IF you're gonna call or txt and complain, hoping/demanding a replacement meal FOC, then no matter how tempting it is to dramatically fling the offending meal in the garbage, DON'T DO IT, cause you already know you're not living in your home country, you already know what they're gonna ask you to do, no point in being frustrated about it, WE chose to come live here, you gotta roll with it or that stomach ulcer ain't gonna improve any time soon.

Well it's not like I eat Thai every day.  I may go talk to the owner but will try Siam House again as I have enjoyed that lace as well, their menu is much bigger and their prices fine.  Delivery is why I stopped eating at Siam as I eat at home a lot.  AC needs a third Thai option with another fully Thai place.  I was sad when Wanjai closed as that was my favorite Thai place.

I live here in AC and have tried most of the restaurants in town and this is my favorite place.  Luckily, my girlfriend agrees 100%, it's also her favorite.

We also cook Thai food at home.

I saw a new Thai Resto sign in Korea town, not yet open.

Oops, my bad, decided to walk the hound that way just now in an effort to reacquaint myself with this new eaterys location, and I found it no problem, just to the left of the 7-11, still appears to be closed, still signs up advertising for staff.

This time I went closer to the "Staff Wanted" sign, imagine my surprise when "hairdresser" was the first position discussed, must be a Thai thing, eat your spicy salad while getting your hair cut, Asian multi tasking perhaps.............alas, NO, whenever I glanced up at the main store sign, for the first time I noticed it's a damn Thai MASSAGE, not Resto after all.
