Why are we doubting the validity?

C's style is like Rosamunde Pilcher's stories of a forgone world. Some may enjoy it, some may feel bored after a while. Question is now: fiction or reality

@  hankmtvasia : (19 November 2017 - 03:14 PM)

Most of the readers, if not all of us, have enjoyed Cuddlers posts. Why the hell are some of you so negative and judgmental about this great monger??

None of us are perfect men, we all have our faults. Unfortunately what drives a person to do such things is pure evil and hatred IMHO. The distortion and mendacity are unbelievable. These things are deep in every sense of the word. We are looking into all possiblities from a technical standpoint. Even with that, the only true evidence lies in a Facebook log file buried deep in their system. Any and all feedback is of course welcomed. PM us as we take this very seriously.

In the Philippines motive is usually money and or jealousy.

@  kantutero : (19 November 2017 - 12:48 AM)

ANYBODY with any knowledge of how investigations work knows there are two key points from the start, motive and opportunity. Cuddler seems to have focused on opportunity, somebody on this board AND who knows his facebook ID, my query is who had the MOTIVE to try and destroy their budding relationship.

@  samthedog : (18 November 2017 - 08:34 PM)

anything interesting going on in barrio baretto next week. will be there house hunting and general fact finding mission

@  bill44ca : (18 November 2017 - 12:43 PM)

Safe Bet. Cuddler said the rat contacted Marz family and set up account as female and managed to write on HER Facebook page before being blocked. How would someone contact her family without her facebook or his if he posted all about her on his? He would know that. I agree with Doc and recall someone saying their GF was only interested in her own FB well if she met them she might have got Marz FB

Agoda have a good deal at the Waterfront hotel up to and Including early November might be usefull to know , I might well book a room in September on Agoda at only 1250 pesos  , usually 1800 . I stayed before at full price and thought it great value .But for just1250 pesos don't think you can find a nicer and more spacious hotel room , really huge pool and decent resto by the pool is cool  ,

Very  friendly staff and good front gate security Impressed me. I liked my stay very much earlier this year and the main road location very well , much better than being down the flooded balloy beach road if its heavy rain and where I used to stay .

This ad is here because Agoda has changed their policies on hotel bookings regarding affiliates. Agoda is now completely deleting the 365 day cookie along with removing any subsequent
bookings brought though your bookings. Philippines Addicts used to get credit for this along with anybody booking through Agoda 365 days after they initially clicked on our link. With this said, we ask you click on any of these Agoda links when making a booking through Agoda so we can get credit for your booking. It costs you nothing and helps us out a lot. We appreciate your understanding to this truly unfortunately fact. Please click on these Agoda links to help Philippines Addicts get credit where it is due, thanks! Book your Philippines Hotel Here and Now! . We have also added Bookings.com as an affiliate and another choice for you guys to get the best possible deal on booking hotel rooms. Again, this costs you nothing. We ask that you please use the Booking.com links found throughout this site so we can get credit for your hotel booking. It's best to try both websites to get the best possible deal. Please use the links provided on this site, thanks!

If you already booked your rooms and/or you don't use Agoda or Bookings.com we'd appreciate it if you could
for board administration, expenses and improvements if you find this site useful to your needs.

1250p is a little high.

The walk in rate for a standard room is going for 1000p a night now

I would NEVER stay at a Waterfront property again.  Check out tripadvisor.com reviews.

I think there is only one Waterfront property

Check out the reviews of Treasure Island Trip Advisors , the worse rated hotel down there I believe, go figure, apart from the two hotels not yet rated .

I found the Waterfront excellent ( tied first ) and the best value,   has by far the best pool apart fom the Wild Orchid , has the  nicest spacious rooms really good security, best value for that sort of  money and Ive stayed at the Arizona,( Harleys tied first ) Trader Ricks ,The Coffe Shop  , Blue Rock  , Walk in rates from 1000 pesos is correct but if you want to book and be sure of availability Agoda is 1250 , still a deal !

I stayed at the Subic Waterfront for a few days in late June. The place was practically deserted. My friend and myself would have the pool entirely to ourselves. I got the impression that the resort was in decline. The staff appeared to be disinterested and it felt as though the place was going to shut down at a moments notice. I had stayed there previously when it was known as Dreamland Resort and managed by an Australian. The resort was then efficiently run. Now I understand it is owned by a Cebu based Filipino family. You can make a booking through their website www.subicwaterfront.com and take advantage of their cheaper rates. (Standard room 999pesos). Perhaps with the promotional rates, the management is trying to reinvigorate the hotel and get some customers.

Interested to know your impressions of the hotel if you choose to stay there in September.

The standard 1000 peso rooms are  very nice btw,  most are large, new beds  refurbished,  are only available by walk in .as FRGC says correct 1000 pesos ,not on line go try booking one you cannot , . Agoda same rooms for 1250 , and no  FRGC not  that expensive usually1800 if booked on line or by phone , go and compare Arizona Harleys TI  rooms some of which I have , to see if you can get cheaper, and also these hotels more expensive standard rooms do not compare :No2: ..just mpov .. ..,

Not being defensive, here, but Trip Advisor takes paid advertising. Much like Google, if you pay, your property seems to get better reviews and higher ratings. Just saying.

Anyway, we, of course, read what's said, and like the disparity in the above findings, we have great reviews and we get bad ones. When there's a problem, we do our best to solve it, but we have to know about it. Anyway, our occupancy rate seems to be above the norm for this area and this time of year. Plus we get a lot of return business so we might be doing more good stuff than bad stuff :).

About Waterfront; it's owned by a local family. When Wes Prentice skipped town (escaped is probably a better term), he left it in shambles and debt ridden. Something like P8,000,000! Most of the staff had not been paid in weeks, and when Wes left, so did much of the hotel's property.

The family contacted us about managing it for them. It was an interesting offer, but we felt it would spread our resources too thin. One of the wives of the owner of the property is the daughter (complicated) of By the Sea Resort. She has a ton of experience in resort management, and she took over. They repaid all the debt and went on a major refurbishing binge. It's geared more toward the local market, but seems to be rebounding quite nicely.

One note; our rates on Agoda and Occupancy Plus are exactly the same as the walk-in rates. What's no on either site is the bonus of getting a coupon for a free drink in EACH of our 6 bars every night of your stay.

I do like the Waterfront's ambiance and yes  the way its been refurbished a very nice place indeed,  I think the famous Arizona is number one on Trip Advisor or near the top , I think that's a pretty accurate rating and is not incorrect.

Wild Orchid if you want the best hotel experience and can afford it have good ratings , to see google Trip Advisor " Olongapo  hotels  " and also  "Olongapo Inns ' to see places like Harleys anouther good hotel its not an Inn btw  with top marks from Trip Advisor customers .

I do think a good hotel makes such a difference on our adventures, hotel choice can in fact make or break our stay and time and effort should  be taken seeking out those good hotels by word of mouth on forums guys Tr's and even on Trip Advisor customer reviews just to get some Idea .

I saw on one of the Subic hotel sites - forget which one - no visitors.  But it went on to say that the guests girlfriend does not count as a visitor.  And who is say you can't have a different girlfriend every night?   I think that is there more for keeping locals from reserving a room and having 5 or 6 cousins show up as "surprise visitors".

One thing I have noticed on sites like TripAdvisor is the difference in reviews written by locals and by foreigners.  You have to take the person into account when you read a review.  Most Americans don't realize how spoiled we are.  Even a cheap roadside motel in the US is better than many "nice" hotels over here.  I enjoy being pampered sometimes - but can easily hotel like a local.  Just realize who is writing the review when you read it.

I have stayed at this place many times, back when it was Dreamland and a couple of time with the new management. The rooms are nice and the place is well priced. The pool is large and very nice, and the new staff are much better than the old. It does have a few drawbacks the biggest being no in room safes. Also its about 5 minutes trike ride away from the beach or 15 minutes walk time. All things considered, I find it to be the best value for a hotel in Subic. Just sayen. Oh, unless it has changed, don't recomend the restaurant. thats ok, because I usually eat at TI or Blue Rock.

Been here 1 day now in Waterfront and they did not say anything when I arrived with my barfine. I really like the staff here they are very polite even the manager a filipino lady. Not like the hotels on Baloy beach where the staff not even have a smile on there lips I would not say there names as the owners/managers are on this board....This is the place I am going to stay at when I am in Subic...

They have bought new tv for the rooms I have a 40" LCD in my room.

Great hotel Waterfront , I thought a lot better than a lot of hotels on Balloy I peeked at, and on the strip as well ,.

I think there is only one Waterfront property

I don't know how many there are but there is a Waterfront hotel in Davao City and 2 Waterfront hotels in Metro Cebu. One on Mactan Island Cebu and one in Cebu City.

The one in Cebu City looks like a castle. There are multiple buildings on a huge area of land. The drive way up to the main hotel building is about 500 yards long. They have porters/ushers wearing gloves who will open the door as you pull up in your taxi. it has a lobby you could land a plane in. It has a casino. There is also a huge out door area with pool. They have a massage spa, gym, multiple restaurants and a duty free store. It is also the location of the US consulate for Cebu.

The Waterfront Subic is separate I think not a group hotel ,, the grounds are massive spread out and led fairy light in the gardens and grounds make it look like fairy land at night the ladies will love it , seems the size of this property and the lay out is perfect for a large spread out hotel ( bungalows rooms all around the hotel as well as well are very nice ) .

Surprised it was not snapped up by one of the westerner hotel barons when as Dreamland it changed hands, I can Imagine big pesos for such a big site though , now pinoy owned I believe its been said ,very friendly reception girls cant do enough for you .

Just stayed here for 10 days ( March 2015 ) I stayed here before when it was dreamland a few years ago, and I totally agree with what xenophobia has to say about the place
There have been significant improvements in the way the place is run now, the rooms are good and the pool area is nice although the water in the pool is cloudy. The only issue with bringing girls back is that if the girl wants to use the pool the hotel will charge you a 300 peso consumable fee as they are your guest, apart from that no problem. All the staff at the hotel are super super friendly and polite and are a real credit to the hotel. I paid 1650pesos per night for a superior double room with a fridge (you can bring your own food and drinks in as long as consumed within the room) and thought it was excellent value.
I have stayed at or looked at a lot of hotels around barretto over the years and I wouldn't put a dog in a lot of them let alone stay there.
I am planning on going back to barretto next year and this hotel is my top choice
