Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Angeles City. American style dining conveniently located near the center of Fields Ave featuring an extensive international menu, full service bar and billiards. Open 24/7 and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from American, Tex-Mex, Thai, Chinese and Filipino cuisines. Personal favorites include the hoagies, burgers, tacos, chicken fried steak, fried rice and sloppy joes. Service is normally prompt and efficient. I have been eating here for years and expect to return for many more satisfying meals.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Angeles City.

Same here. I started wining and dining there in 1993 and have used it more than any other establishment in Angeles in the last 20 years. It was called Margaritaville back in them days, but the format was exactly the same.

For many years it was the only place to go for beer and pussy after the bars closed, at 3am.   All the freelancers and girls who had finished work used to congregate there, but it is a lot quieter nowadays in the wee small hours as there are several other places to go.

I've ate here often in years past and the food was good.  Last time it just didnt' quite seem to be upto par for some reason.  Perhaps an off day or I just ordered something I didn't like..

Yes, good meals, good atmosphere. Call me a perve, but I enjoy sitting and looking at the passerbys. You see some hilarious sights, and some cute girls. The street sellers drive me crazy though

I think your thinking of Kokomoz' where you sit outside bar style.  Margarita Station is indoor dining..

??????????  Magarita's does have street seating where you can sit eat and drink looking through the screen.  I don't eat at Margaritas as much anymore . Sometimes I do their specials. Prices have gone too high and quality does seem a little down.  Plus on some of the special they say it's already pre-mixed and can't remove things like carrots and peppers.  Since they won't bother to accomodate me and remove it, I don't there as much.  I used to love their sweet and sour pork special and pork curry special but they won't remove the carrots and peppers.

I've always hung out at phillies but the girlfriend convinced me to try margarita station. The food I thought was good but what let it down for me was service compared to elsewhere in angeles it was bad. The waitress tried to snatch away the menu before I'd even decided on what to order. Maybe a misunderstanding but I haven't been back yet.

Margarita you sit and stare through chicken wire at the world passing by. Not so open as kokomos, but you get less flies.

Kokomos does have the 'Indian ambiance' of that huge sewer just outside the front of the bar though.

I reccomended phillies to mates that come to AC for the first time. The girls are great service is good and I don't mind the food they have some good pizzas. The managers always ensure things are good and the live bands and raffles etc etc love the joint

i second the motion, sometimes its 30 mins for a simple order, when there are no customers in the place,,expensive too by phils standards.

I am not a big fan of the place its old looking inside and dirty the food was ok and I found the service was a bit slow, it might have been a bad day, I like Kokomo's, the foods not bad (terrible pizza) and you get the 10% discount off your bill

I liked this place because it was open 24/7. Cold beers and decent food. I usually just ordered garlic fried rice with a fried egg on top and a Red Horse beer. My favorite food places were the kitchen at The Vegas hotel, where I stated (they had great fried rice). And I also remembered liking the Swagman hotel in AC for their food.

Many years ago I thought Margarita Station was one of the best places to eat, but with so many better restaurants around now it would hardly make it into my top ten for food. I still drop in occasionally as its a good place to play pool and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

One thing I do like about the place is the jumbo frozen margaritas. A couple of those while watching the sun go down is a great way to start an evening.

Agreed, #1 place in town to eat.  Food is always great and management is onsite to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Management is not afraid to kick a guest out who is insulting staff or trying to play games by a fly in the food.

I like the place, nice friendly staff although service can be slow at times.

Menu is extensive, food quite acceptable, prices ok.....however Phillies do have a better brekky special at 110p including coffee.

Good for pool with 2 tables.
