Because human-rights groups have agenda's it's that simple, and they don't get any mileage from the Marawi incident.

@  BGC Dude : (25 May 2017 - 01:12 AM)

Just announced on Fox news that the Martial law may go nation wide, because of Isis killing in the South. Fear of it spreading to rest of the PI.

@  doctor who : (24 May 2017 - 06:36 AM)

Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:58 PM)

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

I have been dining at Salvatore's for years and really don't have much to complain about. Obviously I don't eat there for the run down 1970's decor. The pizza here is pretty good and baked in real pizza ovens. I am a fan of the lasagna and ravioli, and usually precede this with an antipasto salad and minestrone soup. The food at Salvatore's may not be perfect, but it does the trick and at a great price and location. Given my long years of patronage, they must be doing something right.

I used to get food from them about once a week. Ordering the same stuff as you. Then they changed the menu and jacked the prices up. So been giving them a miss for awhile. Prolly hit it up again shortly.

I gotta say the review is spot as I too have eaten there on numerous occasions. I like the Lasagna and the Chicken Parmesan, the pizzas are OK as well. I haven't been there for a while so I'll have to give it another go. I've been doing my Italian at Azzuro's and Piccalo Padre lately.

I used to like it a few years ago, but on my last visit in May I was not satisfied. I am not sure if my expectations changed due to the increase of opportunities in Angeles, or if the quality really declined. Especially the tomato sauce and the cheese gave me the feeling of cheap ingredients. Many appetizers on the menu were not available as they didn't buy bread. I don't think I will return, as there are better options in town.

I ate here once back in 2000. I guess for the PI the Italian food wasn't bad. But, comparing to the food in quality US metropolitan Italian restaurants it was very subpar. But, my GF really liked it so I gues that's what mattered most.

Years ago I thought their pizzas were great and ordered one 3-4 times a month. No more. Prices keep going up and the quality keeps going down.

We were in there for a late night dinner about 3 weeks ago and ordered a pizza and agree with your assessment 100%.  Too bad, it used to be much, much better...

I've eaten at Salvatore's since the mid 90's and usually go there with my girl of the day 2 or 3 times a trip. I just did Angeles in May of this year, first time back in about 10 years and it was good to see Salvatore's was still there.

I absolutely love the meat sauce baked lasagna at Salvatores...Mary the Filipina cook, has worked there for a long time and she learned how to make this dish from an Italian friend of hers many years ago. I swear that to me, it is better than any lasagna I ever ate in Rome. I hear that a Swede now owns Salvatores.

I tried their pizza a couple of weeks ago after 2 years of not going. It was even worse than before when I stopped going because I thought it was bad. Now it's absolute crap and even more expensive. They have become like Paradise Beer Garden(now Bretto's), just a tourist trap restaurant.

Wow! Disappointed to hear the food is going downhill there. Just the pizza or pasta dishes also?

But some are swearing by their pizza.  LOL  It's edible at best and bizarre cheese.  No accounting for taste. :)  Pizza is not great in AC but other better pizza options than this place.  I'd go with S&R, Tony J's and Sbarro.  I still have to try Zarf.
