Appetites and lifestyles are diverse, Bangkok can be cheaper than Pattaya if you know the scene. Even for local Thais, anything in a tourist area like Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai and others is more expensive.

@  Biggles : (17 July 2018 - 03:06 AM)

Your money will most likely go further in Pattaya, hotels and p4p is not as expensive as BKK.

I always stop at Sbarro for a slice and coke while visiting SM City Clark Mall. It's the nearest thing to NY style pizza that you'll find in the area and they DO serve by the slice. The bonus here is instead of the usual canned coke you can order fountain drinks. Reminds me of my days as young boy, stopping at the local pizza place for two slices of cheese and what I consider to be real coke! Unfortunately, this location serves up a very hit-or-miss variety of foods. The pizza is often totally under-cooked and barely edible, even with the requisite warming-up in the oven. The non-pizza foods are horrible, to say the least, although I think this is specific to the corporate recipe book and not the location. Service and staff are all top notch and work in a quick and methodical process. Plenty of seating with potential for people watching. In all, if you're visiting the mall with a hankering for a slice, this'd be the place.

They do the Chicago style (thick) pizza too. That's their specialty. Only place I've seen to do that.

For NY pizza, I reckon you can't beat Yellow Cab.

I had the Sbarro's here in Iloilo yesterday and it was barely edible.  It is not my favorite in the US but this was pretty bad.  And the slices are so much smaller than in the US... wait did I just complain about the quality and then say they should have given me more?  No wonder I am fat!

I will try the yellow Cab.  I've seen them but never been.  How about Shakey's?

I think the best pizza I have had in AC is 123 Pizza across from Paradice Beer Garden on Fiends.

...  How about Shakey's?

I used to love Shakey's pizza years ago, but for me it got a bit tiresome. They put this crunchy cheese stuff on top which is a bit strange IMO. I can eat Yellow Cab over again & it is still great.

If you like chocolate shakes, Shakey's has the best shakes. When you order it, they give you a glass of water to have while they make it. Yep, it takes a little while to make, but that's because of the way they make it, not because they're slack. Sen-f#cking-sational shakes.

Sbarro is the best pizza in AC.  Sadly it's nothing more than mall pizza in the US and I never eat it in the US,  But for AC it's the best.  Nice that you can get a cheese slice for 79 pesos.

I like the pizza, and the portions are quite big, but every time I've been to the outlet in SM the service is all fucked up.

Last time I was in there my wife and daughter had ordered their stuff and I was ordering for myself, and halfway through I notice the guy has stopped listening to me and is talking to a Filipina next to me.

I stopped and stared intently back and forth at the guy and this Filipina who had totally interrupted, and she just smiled at me, obviously she was using the normal local method of getting served.......

"So, what's happening now??" I asked  the guy "Sorry sir, she wanted to order" was his reply.

I just walked off and sat down next to the wife and daughter, speechless with frustration, at what must be the third time my order has been fucked up in there.  Their food arrived, but mine never did. He had put a slice of pizza in the over for me already, but I have no idea where it went.

I won't be going back, the 3rd time was enough.

The Sbarro's in the States is equally awful and probably even worse and quite frankly is just considered low quality fast food pizza.  The American version of the British Sitcom The Office did a wonderful bit about a Sbarr's in NYC.   Video is below.  BTW, the humor is tounge planted firmly in cheek as the main character is fairly clueless about most things in life.

Yellow Cab Pizza is the closest to NY pizza I have ever tasted here in the Philippines.  They deliver to any hotel or front door.  Their NY Classic pizza is very good.

IMHO #1 = New York Supreme on Mac Arthur next to Mars restaurant but no delivery, #2 = Yellow Cab in Saver's Mall, #3 = take your pick.  But who would eat at a 3rd rate restaurant anyway?  I've read where Paizanos Pizza is ranked #3 of 204 restaurants in AC by Trip Advisor.  They do offer free delivery (045 436 2396 or 0918 378 7133) but open at 3PM.

Might be worth having a look at this: http://www.clarkisit...n-angeles-city/
