Because human-rights groups have agenda's it's that simple, and they don't get any mileage from the Marawi incident.

@  doctor who : (24 May 2017 - 06:36 AM)

Martial Law, stopped me in my tracks last night,, travelling between Mati, and Davao , at 9pm stopped at a road side Army inspection setup, everybody off the bus, walk through the inspection area then back on the bus, only to get stuck behind a military convoy,,

@  willie50 : (24 May 2017 - 05:41 AM)

martial law has not affected san Francisco and prosperidad on Mindanao at this moment. usually a lot of soldiers n check points

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:58 PM)

@FurryFriend Start a topic and stop crowding the Shoutbox if you are going to go on about it.

@  Pukpuk : (23 May 2017 - 11:57 PM)

@FurryFriend So you have experienced Martial law have you? Well I have and I tell you it is slightly inconvenient but not to the stage you wouldn't go there. FFS you love a troll or two don't you.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:48 PM)

http://www.rappler.com/nation/170754-davao-city-lockdown-marawi-attack Davao City mayor "urged visitors to cancel their trips to Davao unless [its] very important...[and] said that if they don't want to be thoroughly inspected in multiple checkpoints, they should not come..." That doesn't sound like a rocking fun place for a week-long mongering trip.

@  FurryFriend : (23 May 2017 - 11:20 PM)

Martial law means so much more than a curfew. It's about having mobility restricted, roads closed, stores closed, flights cancelled, and possible loss of conveniences like cellphone, ATM or internet services. These are all hinderences to mongering. If there was martial law in Pampanga, you can bet AC bars will all be closed. Furthermore, martial law grants the military ability to perform civilian law enforcement. It will not be a fun moment in the Philippines when soldiers with very powerful weapons stops you, asks you questions, then demands to frisk you.

Looks like Army Navy food place in SM has closed down, or being renovated. They did some good burgers and stuff in there.

I won't miss them.  Terrible food.  I went so far as to take pictures and email the company a scathing review which I posted on Tripadvisor.

Yuck.

Gerrys seafood is not so bad.  what some people and we like is fast service of grilled seafood.  some place are so slow and they are really fast and it is fresh for a mall.

I think some Filipinos like to eat lower quality food because it brings back memories of their childhood days when that's all you could get.

Food standards have improved tremendously over recent years, and at least in Manila you are now spooled for choice for good quality restaurants.

A lot of the old style mediocre quality places must be having a harder time now, and those that survive must be cutting corners by using ingredients of dubious quality and employing staff who have not had proper training. That's the only way they can keep their prices low enough to be affordable to the masses who are happy to eat cheaply as long as it fills their bellies.

I ordered a burger while sitting at ponytails. They said it came from Scorebirds. It was just a regular burger, but the meat tasted pretty good and had that outside charred grill taste. (But the fries were really bad. Tasted like they were deep fried with other foods).

Any other places have burgers without outside grill taste?

I tried the walkabout hotel burger...pretty good. But not that charred outside grill taste.

Kokomos burger...below average

Tequila reef burger...not good at all. The meat didnt taste like beef. Had that mushiness to it. I was hungry but could only eat half of it because of the meat consistency.

Oops. Typo error...

Are there any places that have that outside charred grilled meat taste to their burger meat?

Gone and worst business model on the planet.  The guy closer to Fields would have made a fortune. Talked about just delivery in AC but never has followed through. Said he would try to open in Manila.  Filipino owned.

My favorite burgers in AC remain Wobbly Boot and a Burger King Whopper. Custom was on my favorite's list.

Nice to know that the old Wobbly Boot is still in operations. I thought it was about to close.

Wife and I had a few good chats with them the times we popped in. They had some expansive ideas, but I think location basically fucked them. No room for expansion, difficult to find, very little 'passing custom'. They planned to put chairs and umbrellas out the front, but that wiped out their parking space.....

They never had the money to do much.  Worst bu sines plan on the planet.  Bad location and then they stopped delivery altogether. Real good burgers.
