@  doctor who : (23 January 2018 - 01:46 PM)

I predict you have the same chance of your flight being canceled as a Tsunami in Alaska,,

@  Red Horse : (23 January 2018 - 05:44 AM)

I predict the chance of your flight being canceled are 00.00%. Why worry?

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:59 AM)

I'm from UK too and not worried about my flight back

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:58 AM)

So unless it is a big eruption & winds blow ash NW unlikely Manila will need to close. But of course it could be huge. Just don't take the Iceland event as a precedent!

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:57 AM)

More limited closure with the Indonesian eruption a few years before where ash did choke all 4 engines of a BA jet

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:56 AM)

So they closed western European air space for elf 'n safety reasons. Total over-reaction. When pilot got back monitoring flight showed near zero ash & air space reopened

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:55 AM)

The Iceland eruption close-down was a fiasco. Only happened because the ash-monitoring plane pilot was on holiday

@  statusquo : (23 January 2018 - 01:16 AM)

Stealth thanks for the update in the shoutbox helpful to all. You forgot the most important factor, amount of debris ejected. If the entire mountain explodes we all have a problem. There is no way to forecast how this will impact the planet but I must say the amount of global earthquakes is through the roof in the last couple days. I am sure scientists all over the World are crunching models of impact. I am surprised that "advisory" wasn't issued 10 days ago. Gotta feel for the people in the surrounding area.

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:35 PM)

Philippine civil aviation authorities advise pilots to avoid flying close to the volcano’s summit as ash from eruptions can be hazardous to aircraft.
•Check with your airline for the latest flight information if you are traveling to/from Legazpi Airport.

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:35 PM)

@Dunky , just saw this in another thread.....

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:24 PM)

@Dunky , you remember " Iceland " that shit close nearly all the europe airtraffic controle space for a few day`s

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:22 PM)

@Dunky , it depends on a lot of different factors , how high will the ash go , how thick is it , how many miles wide is it , what will be the wind direction , how long will it be hanging.....

@  statusquo : (22 January 2018 - 06:22 PM)

dunky intriguing valid question indeed. Wish you would have posted it in a thread for discussion. Any atmospheric scientists on the board?

@  dunky : (22 January 2018 - 05:05 PM)

and I'm from UK

@  dunky : (22 January 2018 - 05:05 PM)

I see the Mayon volcano has gone off. Is this likely to affect international flights? I will be booking my tickets soon for my trip between 10th feb and 3rd march '18

Just want to get hotel recommendation from anyone who has stayed in Bohol. Anyone know a good hotel, reasonable price, decent room, air con and a pool. Been looking at a few on Agoda but would appreciate anyone with first hand knowledge of a decent hotel in Bohol.

This ad is here because Agoda has changed their policies on hotel bookings regarding affiliates. Agoda is now completely deleting the 365 day cookie along with removing any subsequent

With this said, we ask you click on any of these Agoda links when making a booking through Agoda so we can get credit for your booking. It costs you nothing and helps us out a lot. We appreciate your understanding to this truly unfortunately fact. Please click on these Agoda links to help Philippines Addicts get credit where it is due, thanks! Book your Philippines Hotel Here and Now! . We have also added Bookings.com as an affiliate and another choice for you guys to get the best possible deal on booking hotel rooms. Again, this costs you nothing. We ask that you please use the Booking.com links found throughout this site so we can get credit for your hotel booking. It's best to try both websites to get the best possible deal. Please use the links provided on this site, thanks!

If you already booked your rooms and/or you don't use Agoda or Bookings.com we'd appreciate it if you could
for board administration, expenses and improvements if you find this site useful to your needs.

Have stayed at Lost Horizon and Isis Bungalows a few years ago. Both reasonable and comfortable. Isis is a bit of a pain in the ass to get to and they played games with my deposit. Lost Horizon is right at the dive shop I use, has a little bit better bar and food. Never stayed there but Alona Vida hotel is at the best bar on Alona beach. All depends on your tastes, but that's my 2 pesos.

When I visit Bohol I usually stay at the Bohol Tropics. Ok rooms, pool and the restraunt has live bands every night. Breakfast comes with the room.

I've stayed at the Metrocentre hotel. Right in the middle of the city of Tacbolaran and there is a disco there.

That is where I stay too, if I can get in. They have been booked out the last couple of times.

http://www.boholtropics.com

It is not a beach resort but it is by the sea, in Tagbilaran. It is on the other side of the bay to where the fast ferry will dock at the pier. It has free transfers to and from the pier or the airport. It has 3 swimming pools, one with water slide. 3 restaurants. One is the Café Atanacio which is open air but under cover, over looking the bay. Café Atanacio has a live band each night. The place also has a games room, children's playground, tennis court, dive shops, jet ski hire and a disco free for guests.

You can get a glimpse of it on my Bohol video

You don't say if you are bringing a lady with you or not, but if you are and can swing the expense, stay at the Amorita. You will like everything about it, your lady will love you for it and appropriately reward you in your very private plunge pool!

Depens on what you want.
At the beach, last november i stayed at lost horizon, wich was pretty good, basic, but good.
Regent park is about a 500m walk to the beach. My opinion, better then lost horizon. More comfort, better pool, better food....

More inland i stayed at Loboc river resort which for me was the best out of three. Not to crowded, very friendly staff, great food, nice invoirement, naked swimming at the nice pool with your gf... even fucking in the pool without anyone seeing it ;-)

I've been to Bohol Divers Resort, Alona Kew, Alona Tropical Resort, Oasis, all are in Alona Beach, Panglao.
All is cheap except for Alona Kew maybe, but these resorts share only one beach and with regards to food and entertainment, I can go anywhere within the beach coast, they have plenty of resto and bar.

If your planning to spend your vacation in Bohol, I recommend staying at Amorita Beach Resort.  The place is not only for vacationers, its also ideal for intimate occasions such as wedding and honeymoon.  Just visit this link --> http://www.philippin...sort-bohol.html for updates, reviews and bookings.
