@  doctor who : (23 January 2018 - 01:46 PM)

I predict you have the same chance of your flight being canceled as a Tsunami in Alaska,,

@  Red Horse : (23 January 2018 - 05:44 AM)

I predict the chance of your flight being canceled are 00.00%. Why worry?

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:59 AM)

I'm from UK too and not worried about my flight back

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:58 AM)

So unless it is a big eruption & winds blow ash NW unlikely Manila will need to close. But of course it could be huge. Just don't take the Iceland event as a precedent!

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:57 AM)

More limited closure with the Indonesian eruption a few years before where ash did choke all 4 engines of a BA jet

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:56 AM)

So they closed western European air space for elf 'n safety reasons. Total over-reaction. When pilot got back monitoring flight showed near zero ash & air space reopened

@  teedeeboy : (23 January 2018 - 02:55 AM)

The Iceland eruption close-down was a fiasco. Only happened because the ash-monitoring plane pilot was on holiday

@  statusquo : (23 January 2018 - 01:16 AM)

Stealth thanks for the update in the shoutbox helpful to all. You forgot the most important factor, amount of debris ejected. If the entire mountain explodes we all have a problem. There is no way to forecast how this will impact the planet but I must say the amount of global earthquakes is through the roof in the last couple days. I am sure scientists all over the World are crunching models of impact. I am surprised that "advisory" wasn't issued 10 days ago. Gotta feel for the people in the surrounding area.

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:35 PM)

Philippine civil aviation authorities advise pilots to avoid flying close to the volcano’s summit as ash from eruptions can be hazardous to aircraft.
•Check with your airline for the latest flight information if you are traveling to/from Legazpi Airport.

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:35 PM)

@Dunky , just saw this in another thread.....

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:24 PM)

@Dunky , you remember " Iceland " that shit close nearly all the europe airtraffic controle space for a few day`s

@  Stealth009 : (22 January 2018 - 07:22 PM)

@Dunky , it depends on a lot of different factors , how high will the ash go , how thick is it , how many miles wide is it , what will be the wind direction , how long will it be hanging.....

@  statusquo : (22 January 2018 - 06:22 PM)

dunky intriguing valid question indeed. Wish you would have posted it in a thread for discussion. Any atmospheric scientists on the board?

@  dunky : (22 January 2018 - 05:05 PM)

and I'm from UK

@  dunky : (22 January 2018 - 05:05 PM)

I see the Mayon volcano has gone off. Is this likely to affect international flights? I will be booking my tickets soon for my trip between 10th feb and 3rd march '18

Yup! I made the rookie mistake of over trusting the woman (pro scammer) that I met online, and then visited in Phil. By mid week (on a 2 week visit) after arriving, I knew that I had made HUGE mistake. But that's ok.. She thought that she hooked a big blind fish, and thus put all of her eggs in one basket. After returning home, she was outed by her friends, which just added to what I already figured out on my own. She was cut off and forced to give up her nice little house, furniture, a few other luxuries, and had to move back to Imus from AC with her pinoy's family.

Hahaha I still have some of the hate mail that she sent me.. reading it was priceless.

Yes over the years maybe 3, not much money but still a scam. Suposed to meet an Indonesian in Singapore for short vacation together  but once she got the budget airline fare for buying the ticket, was never to be seen again. Eventually I put all the details on Dragonladies.org which has all sorts of interesting info about guys who have really been played.

Thankfully I dont do the WU thing any more and have learnt that no matter what the sob story, she will get by.

I also learnt a long time back never to send money to anyone I never fucked and I tell any potentials exactly that.

The more stories we hear, the more thick skinned we become.

The best was when a gal straight faced told me I had made her pregnant. Nice story but medically impossible for me to have done that, but still she insisted. I suggested she research the role of a prostate and how the absence of a prostate affect a mans ability to make a girl pregnant.

She shrugged her shoulders and blithely said " well i thought it was you ".......

Sigh... we all do.  I've been scammed by the cam girls a few times.  For a while there was a scam talking to a Thai girl... but you were actually talking to a Filipina host...   But these scams change monthly.

Being honest about it sucks... but keeps us from letting it happen.

My one experience 'mongering' per say... just meeting someone to shag... well they tried to scam me and I refused to fall for it. (had just been scammed by a long term pen pal.)

Best advice ever... keep your wallet and your heart in the safe locked away.

I sent a girl money for a flight to come and meet me. She got Typhoid Fever from walking home in the rain and had to spend the money on meds. I simply told her good job, and good luck with the rest of her scams. I was only out $50 but I felt really stupid because I asked her if I should send her the money or buy the ticket for her. She said up to me, so I just sent it to her.

She didn't scam me so much as I was a complete idiot. I just wish she would have thought of a better excuse and then I wouldn't have felt so stupid. It was a good first lesson.

Actually I liked the typhoid fever buffaloe story
Well done

These scams aren't nothing compared what I've been thru
This wasn't necessarily a scam but investing in a fucking sauri sauri store wasn't the smartest thing I've done
They had good intentions on supporting themselves
But they aren't the smartest people in the world
It did last 6 months or so
I tried to give helpful hints on advertising ideas
But it fell on bewildering ears
Eventually I said close it down
Working 18 hour shifts for peanuts wasn't worth it watching them sleeping on a table at nite to guard a fucking karokie machine
She tried but I think location location is the key to one of those even then they don't make much
Plus listening to pinoys that are really out of key
Sing drove me nuts I've heard cat crys sound better

I never got scammed in that way. Unless we can consider my marriage to my first Thai wife a scam. She married me and then sat on her ass for 10 years while I paid for her and my stepson (i.e. her son by another man).

Ok I got scammed I guess. Like many men who marry women in the west I suppose... http://www.philippin...DIR#/tongue.png

*That's marriage nowadays*

Ha ha ha yup marriage biggest scam ever invented
