still go to the local dealer to test drive , then use the internet for the best price

@  Red Horse : (18 December 2017 - 08:39 AM)

We used to drive cars around first to see if they were up to snuff. Old days...

@  Red Horse : (18 December 2017 - 08:37 AM)

So no more test drive?!

@  stew : (18 December 2017 - 05:33 AM)

one of the popular ways now in the UK, you go to a website enter the details of the car you want, and it goes out to all the dealers who give you a price

@  luismora : (18 December 2017 - 04:56 AM)

I bought a truck online like that in the U.S. in 1999. Saved a couple grand.

@  Red Horse : (18 December 2017 - 04:40 AM)

Oh, so America catches up 20 years later, if people even buy cars now. It was a bizarre commercial; sorry.

@  stew : (18 December 2017 - 04:03 AM)

You could that in UK 20 years ago

@  Red Horse : (18 December 2017 - 03:57 AM)

Just saw an ad on us tv, Carvana something. Buy a car online and a special truck carries it to your house. No car salesman. Changing world!

I'm aware of the ATM at Wild Orchid Subic, but where else are ATMs available? A quick internet search says that there was once one at the Dryden, but I'm uncertain whether it still remains due to the context of the info.

I was in Subic a couple weeks ago and used the one at the Wild Orchid as I was unaware of anywhere else. I think the fee was only 50 pesos if that. Anybody else know of one? I believe there's one at the corner of National Highway and Baloy Beach at that exchange place but I'm not sure.

This is a good post, Finding a ATM in the Barrio Baretto has always been a hassle.
I try to carry alots of Pesos, but they seem to disappear fast when one is having fun.
Hopefully will get some helpful suggestions. Will return to this topic to check for results.

There is one in the middle of the main road, just ask someone when you are on the road and he will guide you to it. Think it was close to a gas station.
EDIT: When thinking about it a little more im 99% sure the ATM was outside a store called Bizmart.

Correct, there is an ATM located next to Bizmart and the Anbon hotel. Mid-way between Voodoo and Bar Barretto.

There is another located inside of the Barretto Mini-Mart, just around the corner from the Coffee Shop Restaurant.

Just a heads up gents! The ATM near the Arizona resort, but across the street, wouldn't take my visa/Plus and Interlink. Maybe you all will have better luck with it. If necessary, you could get a trike to Calapandayan for about 150 PHP and use the one there if all the ATMs are offline - this happened twice during the week I was there.

My-my, I must not have been paying attention to how long it took after I left the atm in Subic, because we just turned around and went to Chiquitita next to Firefly. I'll be back in a day and will definitely be glad there is another atm to utilize.

IgnatiusJ.TM located inside the Wild Orchid hotel in Baloy tends to be dependable.

Warning, WARNING: DO NOT USE THE ATM AT THE ANBON hotel. I used it on my last trip to Subic in June and the damn thing cheated me out of 10,000p. Put card in, punch in all the numbers and amt to take out. Machine tells u to wait and Wait and WAIT and nothing happens. Even eats the ATM card and never ejected it out so I was out of a card for my whole trip. Got home and transaction showed it "gave and charged" me the 10,000p even though it never came out.

What about places to change cash US dollars in Subic? Are there money exchange houses like in AC, or do you have to change in a bank? Thanks.

Talked to Wild Orchid the other day. I was told if the ATM machine captures your card, they will retrive it the next day. Show ID and receive your card back from the front desk

Don't know of any citibank ATMs, however, there are several others around. The fee on all of them seems to have gone up to P200 for P10,000 withdrawal. Used several of them and the one that seems the safest and most reliable for me is the one in Wild Orchid or the one at the market around the corner from the Coffee Shop. Most are PSBank or MetroBank.

A word of warning. An ATM down by Nepo market in AC captured my card on two seperate occasions, told me to contact the bank to retrieve it. First time was a Saturday afternoon so there was minimal chance of that happening. After conferring with the guard, and him not knowing anything, I walked away and had got 50 yards when a local guy came running up behind me with my card in his hard.

The machine had finally spat it out after several minutes digesting it. Great.....

So, if the machine eats your card, hang around for a while.

In the freeport zone, (where the duty free's are) there are Two Banks, at least one with an ATM. (after i misjudged my cash amount i need cash, so a guy from the hotel where i was staying in subic bay drove me there)
forgot the exact street name, but if you ask someone, you'll easily get there.
