Hotel question Lewis Grand / Pacific Breeze

Hi guys,

Planning my next AC trip. Last few times I've stayed at either ABC (not a fan) or Lewis Grand (LGH is my favourite).

But I'm tempted to stay somewhere more in the center of the action in fields (and possibly try for somewhere a bit cheaper) like Pacific Breeze, but I don't know if I will be severely disappointed after the LGH...

Hello Everybody,

As my next trip to SE-Asia is (only) a few month out, I started planning what I need. I'm not a big planner, last trip I got a flight and hotel for the first and the last two days. But I did get the important things - vacination, big box of condoms, lupe and visas (where necessary). I will go for roughly a month and don't wanna stay in only one place, so I will fly to Bangkok and move around.
I joined this board a while ago to find out if I make a short stop-over in PI.

Unfortunatly even though, everybody seems very excited about PI, I just can't find the reason to go!!

Let me be more clear. I have been LOS and know the drill, I read about PI and just hear about
- scams
- crime
- less stunners
- trouble with police
- girls not willing to f.
- generally little more expensiv (all in all)
- generally less quality for money

With so many of you going to PI every year, please let me know why I'm wrong.

Taco Bell

Drove to Rizal this morning and on my return back punched in Taco Bell into my GPS. Wow was 11k from my location so decided to reroute there to check it out. The Taco Bell is in the Gateway Mall, Ground Floor, Araneta Center, Quezon City. Easy to find, traffic was a little busy but for 2pm wasn't to bad. The food was great. Tasted just like Taco Bell in the US. Its been over a year since I had Taco Bell so it was a real treat. The prices I didnt think were to bad, they have a large 39p menu and meal combo's were ok priced. Will for sure check it out again if im in the area.

I have left the PI yesterday and now am in Pattaya. The last 2 days in PI were typical, great little blond from OEW, barhop and back to the room. Flew PAL 730 to BKK and then down to Pattaya, staying at the Vault hotel. All uneventful. Had I known about the new flights from Clark, I would have gone that route, however, I had already purchased my ticket on PAL. It only takes 3 minutes in bar to figure out why at times I like AC just a little bit better than LOS. You can actually have a conversation in AC. Got to my favorite daytime bar, Joy Beer Bar on soi 8, and fall quickly in love. 24 years old, not really skinny, decent looking, speaks no english. So pay bar for her, tell her I will be back at 9:00. Go barhopping, she is shocked by what she saw, and I am starting to second guess myself. We finish up about 2 AM, head back to the room, pass out. Wake up, have sex, go have breakfast, come back, she wants to have sex again, I oblige her, she then spends the next 3 hours sitting around naked. Cebu Rundown

Hi Everyone,

I arrived in Cebu a few days ago and can just provide some brief snapshots...

After arrival at the airport I walked straight out of the arrivals terminal, across the street, up a ramp to the right, and out the departures lounge; there I caught a white cab. I'm sure this is the absolute easiest way to do it, and probably the cheapest. There was even a large row of cabs waiting, and it was past midnight and the departures lounge looked closed. Cost to Colon area was about 170 pesos if I can remember. We flew.

Initial impressions of Cebu were that it very much reminded me of Khon Kaen or Udon Thani in Thailand, with parts of Hanoi, Playa del Carmen, and East L.A. thrown in. It had/has a bit of a rough and gritty feeling to it...and arriving at the Cebu Century Plaza hotel was a bit of a trip. It looked very seedy and unsafe outside, and I was greeted by an armed guard at the door.

Thanks to Donkey for the recommendation, as I'm overall happy with the place. I have a double deluxe with refrigerator. The room has many channels and wireless internet, although both can be a bit spotty at times. Of special note is that after I reserved this room the rates went up...but management still respected our initial rate. I thought that was honorable. The room rate was 850 pesos a night, and now is 930. I got 20% discount for a 1 month prepaid stay.

Upon waking up the first day I made my way down to the lobby where I was supposed to meet a Filipina friend. After she didnt show the receptionist sheepishly asks me my room number and tells me that a girl called for me a few times in the morning and they told her that I wasn't staying there because they transposed my first and last names at booking and so couldnt find me in their system. After an hour the girl called back and met me.

We just ran errands and hooked me up with a mobile sim (Sun) that cost 29 pesos for the card, plus an unlimited reload for 150 pesos, (I think for only other Sun users)...

For anyone interested in boxing, there is ALA gym in Baniland Town Center. They have a special for 2000 pesos all inclusive. For this price you get an hour session a day (excepting Sundays). If you want to go on Sundays you have to pay another 50 pesos per visit. Gloves can be bought or rented for 50 pesos per day. Glove cost is about 2850 pesos, which seem good quality and ballpark fair from research I did on glove prices.

Other than that I have just boned the girl that I'm with, stocked my room, and hit a couple of clubs.

The first is Sunflower. Live band and set up like a Korean booking club. Basically there's a stage and then tables setup throughout. In Korea the men will sit and wave a lantern and get the waiters to bring them women. The woman gets her drinks bought and nibbles off the mens platters and it's polite for her to stay for a drink. It they hit it off, they can take it from there. In Cebu, it's just setup to look like a booking club but is just like a live dance venue that you would find in Thailand, for example.

The food, service, and prices were good. We got some fried chicken, a juice, and a 4+1 beer set. There was a 100 peso cover charge for each and my lady got a juice with that. They played amazing covers of classic music here and it was lively. The Filipina I was with told me that Philippinos are great imitators and I'd agree; truly human parrots and can cover songs as well as the originals, in my opinion.

Another club I hit last night was on Mango avenue...and it is the former Juliana's. It is called something else but I'm sure everyone still knows it as Julianna's, as well. Bascially the place was a very mixed crowd of foreigners (white and Korean, mostly) and Filipinos. Lots of freelancers.

The only cautionary tale of this place is that when my friend and I (met him by accident in the club) ordered drinks at the bar...they charged us 100 pesos each. At a table the waiters charged us 60 pesos for gin and tonics (me) and 70 pesos for rum and cokes. The waitors couldnt explain the price differential...so we just ordered from tables after. Gin and Tonics were strong; rum and cokes were weak.

Prior to going to the club I hung out in the Colon area outside a convenience store. This area felt very unsafe the first night I arrived by felt alot safer a few nights in. You will get to see familiar faces and your face will become familiar to them. Other foreigners there confirmed street girls are 5-700 pesos. Pimps were trying to get 1500+. The Filipino men arent aggressive...but are persistent. But once they realize they aren't getting anything from you...you don't exist anymore, so it's pretty good.

Initial impressions are that Cebu is much grittier and feels more dangerous than Thailand...but the people are also very friendly. I think more genuinely friendly than Thais. Both seem to have a devil may care attitude and live for today, let tomorrow worry about itself attitude.

Typical lax thinking exists in both places and even Filipinos seem to comfirm and reconfirm what the other person is saying in conversations as no one is too clear on anything. I asked the front desk about laundry and they told me they didn't know the price but that I could leave it with them as there would be a pickup in an hour. When I asked why I would leave my laundry without knowing the price they just laughed.

I'm liking the place so far and it seems a good base to cheaply chill out and poach women at will...

Ok so here's the scenario, I meet this girl on my cherry trip to AC. We immediately clicked, and it was practically love at first site. (I dont think I have heard of any male of that age, western or otherwise beating their sister up)
