exactly never argue with taxi or trike drivers over a fare. better to just pay it or not agree to it. Most of the ones at Term. 1 will come down in price if you don't act newbie so not worth the hassle going upstairs by pulis to save a hundred pesos
I fly in and out of Manila at least 15 times a year both international and interIslands and have taken over 100 manila taxis this year all hours of the day and many make demands at night for extra even daytime chinatown traffic many won't use mether
You shouldn't talk this way some newbies will believe it all. Drivers can ask where u are going then say Tired done for the day and drive off. you can do nothing. Do you want to risk police if they refuse meter and you drive off with them or if they say 500 plus meter and you don't pay. foreigner loses with pulis
You now get a lot less bullshit from taxi drivers since they changed the rules and now the drivers are required to have a HUGE license posted inside the car with their name, photo and license number information.
If you are at terminal one and it is busy your chances are better than if at night when there are very few people arriving at like 10 or 11 pm and the taxi's get picky upstairs. Many turned us down not wanting to fight roxas traffic to malate
I got past a couple times too but the last too times I got stopped and so much time wasted having to go back downstairs not worth it to save two or three dollars. Easier to be patient and negotiate outside departure They have more Police with the remodel and crews to watch
